The Older Core

Around Downtown, homes date from the 1910s onward, and Louthan Heights nearby is a local historic district of sixteen residences. Aberdeen Village, between West Littleton Boulevard and South Broadway, is mostly 1950s and 1960s ranch homes. Arapaho Hills is a mid-century modern subdivision on the National Register. In these houses, openings were cut for smaller machines and the gas connection may predate anything on the market.

Dryers are the usual surprise. An older laundry may not have the 240V circuit a new electric dryer needs, and the vent may leave through an older wall at an awkward angle. Gated and Lakeside Neighborhoods

Coventry, between West Bowles Avenue and South Sheridan Way, and The Polo Reserve, between West Mineral Avenue and South Platte Canyon Road, are both gated. Share the gate arrangement when you book so the technician is not waiting at the entrance. Their larger homes are where built-in and panel-ready kitchens tend to appear. A panel-ready unit has to match the cabinet opening and carry the custom panel without binding.

Bow Mar South is a lakeside neighborhood where building ran from the 1960s to the late 1990s.
