LG Appliances We Service

LG is one of the most widely owned appliance brands in Denver Metro homes, particularly for refrigerators and laundry. The brand builds its own compressor, motor and drying platforms, and each one fails in a way that is specific to LG.

LG Appliance Repair in Denver Metro Homes

LG builds a great deal besides appliances, so a search for LG repair returns half an industry. This page is about the machines in your kitchen and laundry room. Pick the one that stopped working.

LG Appliances We Repair

LG is one of the most widely owned appliance brands in Denver Metro homes, especially for refrigerators and laundry. Almost every LG fault traces back to a platform the brand designed itself, which is why brand knowledge changes the diagnosis.

Our LG work splits three ways, and each family has its own page.

  • Kitchen appliances: refrigerators, freezers, ice systems and dishwashers
  • Cooking appliances: ranges, wall ovens, cooktops and range hoods
  • Laundry appliances: washers and dryers, including WashTower and WashCombo

The LG Technology Behind Most LG Failures

Four LG platforms account for most of what we are called out to fix. Knowing which one your machine uses narrows the diagnosis before a technician opens anything.

The Inverter Linear Compressor drives LG refrigerators. It fails differently from a conventional compressor, and it carries a different warranty term from the rest of the sealed system.

The Direct Drive motor bolts straight to the washer drum with no belt. That removes one wear part and adds another, because bearing wear in the motor assembly now shows up as a spin fault.

Sensor Dry ends a dryer cycle on measured moisture rather than a timer. When the sensor bars are coated, the dryer reads a wet load as dry and stops early, which reads to the owner as no heat.

ThinQ logs faults internally on connected models. Where an appliance has it, the stored code often identifies the failed component before the panel comes off.

Where to Start With Your LG

Each of these leads somewhere more useful than this page. If you want the repair, follow the appliance. If you want to understand the fault first, follow the guide.

The refrigerator is not cooling

This is the most common LG call we take, and the cause differs depending on whether the compressor runs. Our LG refrigerator not cooling guide walks the diagnosis, and the LG refrigerator repair page covers the service itself.

The ice maker stopped

LG ice systems live inside the refrigerator, and Craft Ice adds a second mechanism that fails on its own. Start with the ice maker troubleshooting guide, or go straight to LG ice maker repair.

The washer will not spin, or shows a code

LG washers report faults as two-letter codes on the panel. We have written up the two most common ones, UE and LE. For the repair, see LG washer repair.

The dryer runs but will not dry

LG dryers measure duct restriction and display it as a code before anything breaks. Our D80 guide explains what the number means. Heating faults are a different chain, covered on LG dryer repair.

The dishwasher will not drain

Standing water in the tub points at the drain path or the pump, and LG panels usually name which. See LG dishwasher repair.

The oven or range will not heat

LG builds no standalone oven, so the fix depends on whether yours sits in a range or in the wall. Both are covered: LG range repair and LG wall oven repair.

What We Service on LG, and What We Do Not

LG sells more categories than we service, and it is fairer to say so here than after a booking.

We do not service induction cooktops, on LG or on any other brand. We do not service over the range or countertop microwaves. LG’s built-in microwave models are a different matter and we do handle those, alongside the wall ovens they install with.

LG also builds one wine refrigerator under its SIGNATURE line. We service it, though it is rare enough in Denver Metro homes that it has no page of its own.

Reading an LG Model Number Before You Call

The model number is on a sticker inside the door on refrigerators and dishwashers, and around the door opening on washers and dryers. It tells us more than the symptom does.

The opening letters name the family. LR is a refrigerator, LD a dishwasher, WM a front-load washer, WT a top-load washer, DL a dryer. Reading it to us on the phone means the right component travels with the technician.

One trap worth knowing: LG’s WashCombo carries the same WM prefix as an ordinary front-load washer, and it is a different machine underneath.

Parts for LG Appliances

We source LG components through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Availability and timing depend on the part and the supplier, so we confirm both before committing to a repair rather than after.

Where a component is discontinued, we say so and price the alternative honestly. An LG machine is often worth repairing well past the point owners assume, and occasionally it is not.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Two things are worth checking yourself first, because both are common and neither needs a technician.

If a dryer has stopped drying, clean the lint screen and check the outside vent flap. If a refrigerator has warmed but the freezer is still cold, the problem is airflow rather than refrigeration, and clearing the vents sometimes ends it.

Past that, LG faults route to us. Sealed system and compressor work is ours, and our technicians are EPA-608 certified for the refrigerant handling it involves. Motor, control board, drain and heating faults are ours. Every technician who comes out is insured, and the labour carries a written warranty.

Book an LG repair visit and tell us the model number and the code on the panel, if there is one.

LG Appliance Repair Across Denver Metro

We cover the Denver Metro Area, and LG volume means we see the same faults often enough to arrive knowing what they usually are.

These are our own field photographs of the components named. They show the parts rather than LG machines specifically, because the same diagnostic step looks the same across brands.

LG Appliance Repair FAQ

Do you repair LG appliances still under warranty?

We repair them, but warranty work is claimed through LG. Check your coverage first, because the LG sealed system and compressor carry a longer term than the rest of the appliance.

Is an LG linear compressor worth replacing?

Often yes, and the deciding factors are the age of the unit and whether the sealed system was contaminated when it failed. We give you both before you decide.

My LG panel shows a code. Does that tell you what is wrong?

It narrows it considerably. Codes point at a subsystem rather than a single part, so a technician still tests, but the test list is much shorter.

Do you work on LG commercial laundry equipment?

Our LG work is residential. Commercial laundry equipment is a different service, and we would rather say that now than on the doorstep.

LG appliance stopped working?

Tell us the model number and what it is doing. We will tell you what it usually is.
