Washer Hookup and Installation

A new washer in the laundry room is not much use until it is connected, leveled and proven not to leak. Wilson & Myers handles washer hookup across Denver Metro for new machines, replacements and moves. We connect braided stainless supply hoses to your existing hot and cold valves, seat the drain hose in the standpipe or utility sink, and level the machine. A full test cycle with a spin checks for leaks and walking.

We set up stackable pairs with the correct stacking kit too. Our insured technicians work on all major brands, with a 100-day labor warranty on every job.

What's Included in a Washer Hookup

Standard Washer Hookup

A standard washing machine hookup connects hot and cold supply hoses to the existing wall valves and routes the drain hose into the standpipe or utility sink. Then we level the machine on its leveling feet and run a test cycle to confirm there are no leaks and the machine spins balanced. We supply braided stainless hoses on every job: rubber hoses fail over time and are a common cause of laundry room floods.

If your existing wall valves are corroded or don’t shut off fully, we point it out before connecting, because a valve that won’t close is a flood risk. Book online to confirm availability.

Stackable Washer Dryer Installation

Stacking a washer and dryer requires a stacking kit specific to the washer and dryer model pair. The dryer sits on top of the washer using a bracket that must be the correct part for the exact models involved. Stacking kits are not universal and attempting to stack without the correct kit is unsafe.

We verify the correct kit before scheduling, handle the stacking and securing of both units, complete all connections, and test both appliances before leaving. For dryer hookup, see our dryer hookup page.

Washer Relocation

Moving a washer to a new room or a new home requires confirming that hot and cold supply valves and a proper standpipe or drain outlet exist at the destination. A standpipe must be at least 18 inches tall and no more than 96 inches from the floor for the drain hose to function correctly. We check the destination before disconnecting the washer, handle the move, and complete the new hookup with a leak and function test.

What We Check Before Leaving

Every washer hookup job ends with the same checklist. Both supply hoses are tight with no drips, and the drain hose sits in the standpipe at the correct depth. The machine is level front-to-back and side-to-side, a spin cycle confirms it does not walk, and the supply valves open and close fully. A washer that walks across the floor during spin is almost always a leveling problem, not a mechanical fault.

  • Not for a standard connection to existing valves and a standpipe. If no plumbing exists at the location where you want the washer, a plumber needs to rough in supply lines and a drain first. We identify this on the call and advise accordingly.

  • We measure the space and the machine before starting. If the new model is deeper or wider than the existing space allows, we advise on options before any connections are made.
