Insured Thermador Repair in Denver Metro: Cooking Appliances

Thermador Cooking Appliance Repair Across Denver Metro

Before you book anything, read the letters at the front of your model number. On a Thermador range they decide what is underneath the burners, and two machines that look identical on top have completely different ovens inside.

That one detail decides which parts a technician brings. It is also the question most people cannot answer on the phone, which is why we ask you to check the badge first.

Wilson & Myers handles Thermador cooking appliance repair across the Denver Metro Area with insured technicians and a 100-day labor warranty. Thermador range and oven repair reaches the same team.

PRG, PRD and PRI Are Three Different Machines

Thermador’s own manual covers put the prefixes together, and its product pages split the line into gas, dual fuel and induction. Cross-reference the two and the badge tells you everything.

  • PRG

Professional, all gas. Gas burners on top, and a gas oven underneath with a bake burner, a broil igniter and an infrared broiler.

  • PRD

Professional, dual fuel. The same gas burners on top, and an electric oven underneath with a bake element and a broil element.

  • PRI, MRI, CIT

Induction. We do not service induction on any brand, and we say so before you book rather than after.

So a PRG366WH and a PRD366WGU are the same 36 inch range with the same surface and two entirely different ovens. Same complaint at the oven door, different part, decided by one letter.

One thing that surprises owners of both. Thermador labels the bake heat source hidden on gas and electric alike. Open the door, see no element, and nothing is missing.

What Thermador Builds, and the Two We Do Not Touch

Better to say this now than after a technician is booked.

Thermador’s current cooking line is gas and induction on the surface, with wall ovens, steam ovens, speed ovens, warming drawers, professional rangetops and ventilation alongside. It also builds coffee machines.

Induction and coffee machines are outside what we do, on this brand and every other. If your badge reads PRI, MRI or CIT, that is an induction machine and we are not the right call.

Electric cooktops sit in an odd place worth knowing. Thermador sells none today, yet it still maintains a full support section for them with its own error-code table. Those radiant cooktops are out of the lineup and very much still in Denver kitchens, and they are ours.

A rangetop is also not a cooktop. A rangetop is a professional gas surface with no oven beneath it and its own installation guide, while a cooktop drops into a counter. The distinction changes the access, so tell us which you have.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

A few of these end without a visit, and we would rather you tried them.

On an electric cooktop showing dE, that is demo mode. Cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds, then touch any control within three minutes. On F5, move the hot pan away from the touch controls, because the electronics are protecting themselves.

On a Thermador oven, an E followed by a number means the electronics found a fault. Reset the oven and see whether it returns. If it does, it is a service call.

Call us when a fault survives a reset, or when a gas burner will not light or hold flame. Call us when an oven will not hold temperature, or a hood has stopped moving air. Have the model number ready. On this brand it settles fuel, format and manual before a technician leaves.

Book online and read us the badge exactly as printed.

Thermador Hood Repair, and the CFM Arithmetic It Publishes

Thermador ventilation repair is a real part of what this brand needs, and Thermador is unusually specific about what its hoods have to do.

Its own ventilation planning guide gives the rule in numbers. For Professional applications with a non-approved hood, it recommends a hood or blower rated at 1 CFM for every 100 BTU on the cooking surface. For Masterpiece electric and induction applications, a minimum of 100 CFM per lineal foot of width.

  1. A 12 inch griddle adds 200 CFM to the estimated blower capacity.
  2. A 24 inch griddle adds 400 CFM, and so does a grill.
  3. A grill and a griddle together add 600 CFM.
  4. Duct length matters as much as the blower. Thermador recommends not exceeding 50 feet of equivalent duct length, and notes that elbows and transitions reduce airflow.

This is why a Thermador range hood not venting is so often a duct problem rather than a motor problem. A hood that was correctly rated for the range can still be strangled by the run behind the wall.

Thermador hood repair and Thermador range vent hood repair cover the parts that do fail. The blower motor and its impeller or fan wheel, the fan speed controller and the damper. Then the LED light strip and its LED driver board. Four complaints cover most of it. A Thermador hood fan not working. A Thermador range hood light not working. A Thermador range hood fan speed not changing, or a Thermador range hood making noise.

Filters are the other half. Baffle filters and grease filters load up and the grease drip channel fills. A charcoal filter in a recirculating hood has a service life nobody tracks. Thermador ventilation hood motor repair and Thermador hood blower repair are the jobs that follow when the filters were left too long.

Thermador Masterpiece hood and Thermador Professional hood describe the collection, while a Thermador island hood and a Thermador wall-mount hood describe the mounting. HMWB and HDDM series badges, and Thermador 30 inch range hood and Thermador 36 inch range hood sizes, all reach the same team. Coverage across every brand sits on our range hood repair page, and restaurant work on our commercial hood repair page.

Where Each Thermador Machine Goes

Three cooking pages, because three appliances with three different fault stories should not share one.

Wall ovens, steam ovens, speed ovens and warming drawers sit on our Thermador oven repair page. Ranges, rangetops and cooktops, with the fuel question that governs them, sit on our Thermador range repair page.

Built-in and combination microwaves, including MicroDrawer units, sit on our Thermador microwave repair page. Over-the-range and countertop microwaves are outside our service card. If your Thermador microwave sits above the range, that is the one machine here we turn down.

The kitchen side of the brand is on our Thermador kitchen appliances page, and the brand starts from Thermador appliance repair.

Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Thermador parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts.

Thermador Cooking Appliance FAQ

What cooking appliances does Thermador make?

Ranges in gas, dual fuel and induction, professional rangetops, and gas and induction cooktops. Wall ovens, steam ovens, speed ovens, warming drawers, ventilation hoods and coffee machines. It no longer sells electric cooktops but still supports them.

Thermador what cooking appliances do you repair?

Ranges, rangetops, gas cooktops, the discontinued electric cooktops, wall ovens, steam and speed ovens, warming drawers, range hoods and built-in microwaves. Induction and coffee machines we do not.

Does Thermador make range hoods, and do you repair Thermador range hoods in Denver?

Yes to both. Thermador calls the category Ventilation and builds wall-mount, island and professional hoods. We repair the blower, the speed control, the lights and the filters across the metro.

Does Thermador make induction cooktops?

Yes, and it leads its own product navigation with them. We do not service induction on any brand, so a PRI, MRI or CIT badge is one we will point elsewhere rather than take.

What Thermador appliances do you not repair?

Induction cooktops and induction ranges, coffee machines, and over-the-range or countertop microwaves. Everything else Thermador builds for a Denver kitchen is work we take.

How much does Thermador range hood repair cost?

It moves with the fault, so a figure here would be a guess. A light strip and a blower motor are not the same job. We diagnose first, quote second, and you decide before a part is ordered.

Can a Thermador range hood be repaired or does it need replacing?

Nearly always repaired. Blowers, speed controls, dampers and lights are serviceable parts, and a hood built into custom cabinetry is expensive to swap. Poor venting is often the duct run rather than the hood at all.

How long does a Thermador range hood last?

We publish no figure, because Thermador does not, and every number circulating online is unsourced. Filter maintenance and the duct run behind the wall decide it more than the badge does.

Which Denver Metro areas do you cover?

The whole metro, from the city out through the surrounding suburbs. Coverage for the city itself sits on our appliance repair in Denver page.

Thermador Burner or Oven Playing Up?

Read us the model prefix. PRG is gas through and through, PRD puts an electric oven under gas burners, and that one letter decides the part.
