Bosch Range Repair by Insured Denver Technicians

Bosch Range Repair Across Denver Metro

A range is two machines under one control, which is why it fails in ways a wall oven cannot. Wilson & Myers repairs Bosch slide-in, freestanding and dual-fuel ranges across the Denver Metro Area. Our technicians are insured, and we work from what Bosch publishes rather than from a list somebody invented.

Bosch Publishes a Real Code Table for Freestanding Ranges

Freestanding ranges are the exception in the Bosch cooking line. Bosch defines nine numbered entries for them, one by one, where most of its cooking documentation stops at a generic letter and number.

Then the oddity, which we checked twice. Bosch prints that list under an Electric tab and a Gas tab, word for word identical. Nine codes, both fuels, no split.

Freestanding range code table
CodeWhat Bosch calls itWhat it changes on the visit
e005Communication failure between the user interface and power boardTwo boards and the wiring between them, so we test before ordering either
e011Touch sensor failure on the oven control panelBosch has you clean the panel and wipe it dry before any reset
E100An electronics fault has occurredBosch offers no detail here, so the diagnosis happens at the appliance
e101The temperature sensor on the appliance is malfunctioningThe only sensor code Bosch publishes for a range oven cavity
e126The door lock on the appliance is malfunctioningA self-clean lock fault. Do not force a locked door open
e302 lowercaseThe power board has overheatedBosch offers the owner no step at all on this one
E302 uppercaseThe control panel has overheatedBosch asks where the pots sat, because the panel takes that heat
e310There is a power supply failureA house wiring question first and an appliance question second
ERR or toPThe cooktop was activated during an active Self CleanExists only because one control runs both halves of a range

Case in that table is Bosch’s own and not a typo, so read a code as printed before anybody orders a part.

Slide-in ranges are documented differently. Electric slide-ins carry a single entry and dual-fuel carries two, both in the generic letter-plus-number form.

Slide-In or Freestanding Changes the Whole Job

Bosch describes a slide-in as a range that slides back against the wall for a built-in look. Freestanding in the current Bosch US line means the pro-style build, sold as the Industrial-Style Collection. The difference decides how we reach the part.

A slide-in sits inside a run of cabinetry with the countertop lapping its edges. Reaching the power board, the door lock or the gas connection means bringing the appliance out of that run first.

  • Slide-in

Sits between cabinets with the countertop overlapping the sides, and comes forward for service

  • Freestanding

Pro-style build with finished sides. Easier to walk out, and heavier to move

  • Fuel

Gas, electric and dual-fuel. Induction is the one configuration we do not service

  • Series

Bosch lists ranges in 800 Series and Benchmark, plus a newer 100 Series slide-in

  • Codes

Freestanding gets the nine-entry table. Slide-in publishes one entry, or two on dual-fuel

Anti-tip hardware, the shutoff behind the appliance and a flush countertop all stand between us and the part. We plan the pull before we quote the work.

Gas, Electric and Dual-Fuel Are Three Different Repairs

The badge on the front tells you which failure set you own. Gas and electric ranges share the oven cavity and the published code list, then part company at the cooking surface. Dual-fuel is both at once.

  • Gas. A whole gas train arrives with the appliance, and Bosch ships the pressure regulator as part of it.
  • Electric. Radiant elements and the boards driving them. Bosch’s published failure vocabulary here is codes rather than named switches.
  • Dual-fuel. A gas surface over an electric oven. On slide-in dual-fuel Bosch publishes an E form and an F form with different instructions.
  • Induction. We do not service induction ranges or induction cooktops, so that is the one configuration to take elsewhere.

Bosch splits its published codes by configuration rather than by series. It lists ranges in 800 Series and Benchmark, with a newer 100 Series slide-in that it credits with Fast Preheat. There is no 500 Series range.

That last point catches people out, because a 500 Series does exist in wall ovens. Bosch gas range 800 Series and Bosch electric range 800 Series are the pair we see most.

Homeowners call it a stove and Bosch calls it a range. Bosch gas range problems reach us under either word.

The Oven Inside a Range Is Not a Wall Oven Call

Most of the cavity is shared with a Bosch wall oven, down to the wording in the manuals. An oven running hot or cold is the Oven Temperature Offset setting rather than a failed part. When convection results look wrong, Bosch points at Automatic Convection Conversion being switched off.

What differs is everything a range adds around it.

  1. One control runs the surface and the oven, which creates a fault a wall oven cannot have. Bosch codes it ERR or toP.
  2. On a gas range Bosch’s oven troubleshooting carries a line no electric wall oven chart has. Check the regulator switch, because it may be off.
  3. The burner, igniter and valve set lives on the same appliance as the oven, so one visit can turn up two faults.
  4. Access runs low and forward. A wall oven unbolts from a cabinet at chest height, while a range comes out along the floor.

Built-in wall ovens and double ovens belong on a different page. The 500 Series double oven asymmetry, the probe tiers and QuietClose sit on our Bosch oven repair page.

The cooking surface itself, with its burners, igniters and sealed burner caps, belongs to Bosch cooktop repair. A Bosch oven range brings both halves to one visit.

Denver Altitude Is a Gas Supply Question on a Range

Bosch prints one line across at least three installation documents, and Denver clears it easily. Contact customer service for use at altitudes above 2,000 feet. Denver sits at roughly 5,280, which is 2.6 times that threshold.

Every Bosch gas range in the Denver Metro Area sits above the elevation at which Bosch tells the installer to call first. That is not a fault. It is a reason to have the install checked when a gas range never quite settled.

Propane adds a second rule, and Bosch publishes the arithmetic. For operation at elevations above 2000 ft, appliance rating shall be reduced at the rate of 4 percent for each 1000 ft.

We quote that verbatim and stop. The sentence triggers above 2,000 feet and then measures from sea level, so it yields two different answers here. Bosch does not resolve it, so neither do we.

  • Bosch ships its gas ranges set for natural gas, and says a qualified technician or installer must do the propane conversion.
  • The conversion kit manual for slide-in ranges repeats the same referral. For high altitude installations, refer to customer service.
  • Bosch publishes no altitude kit and no Denver procedure of any kind. The instruction is to contact customer service, full stop.
  • The 2,000 foot line and the derating rule are both gas rules, and they sit in Bosch’s installation and conversion documents.

Baking differently up here is a recipe question rather than a fault, and Bosch’s own answer sits on our Bosch oven repair page. The orifice and valve side of a propane conversion is on Bosch cooktop repair.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Free checks first, in the order Bosch puts them. Several of them settle the question outright.

  1. Reset at the circuit breaker. Five minutes off is Bosch’s own timing on e005, E100, e101 and e310.
  2. Clean the control panel and wipe it dry. That is Bosch’s own first step on e011, ahead of any reset.
  3. On gas, confirm the shutoff valve is open and the house supply is on. Bosch puts that ahead of everything else.
  4. On a gas range that will not heat, check the regulator switch. Bosch’s own chart says it may simply be off.
  5. If the oven door stays locked after it has cooled, Bosch’s range chart sends you back to the breaker for five minutes.
  6. If the code is an uppercase E302, look at the room temperature and where the pots have been sitting.

Then it becomes our job. Call when the code comes back after the reset, when a burner will not light with clean ports, or when the door stays locked.

Bosch is blunt about the rest. Never attempt to repair a heating element yourself, it says, because ovens and stoves use high-voltage electricity.

We have seen Denver kitchens where the range was the last thing anybody suspected and the first thing that had to come out. Bring the E-Nr from the rating plate when you book online, and tell us whether it is gas, electric or dual-fuel.

The Parts a Bosch Range Visit Usually Reaches

Naming matters once you are reading a quote. Bosch writes power board and user interface, and never control board.

On a range the electrical side is where most visits land. The power board, the user interface, the temperature sensor behind e101 and the door lock behind e126. Anything under the burners is the same parts list we work from on a cooktop.

Thermal fuse, relay board, infinite switch and door spring are absent from Bosch’s range documents entirely. They are trade words for real parts, and when we use one we mean our own diagnosis rather than a Bosch label.

Coverage across every brand sits on our stove and cooktop repair and oven repair pages. The rest of the line is on Bosch cooking appliances, and the brand starts at Bosch appliance repair.

Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Bosch parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts.

Bosch Range Repair FAQ

What do Bosch range error codes mean?

Freestanding ranges get nine defined entries, printed identically under both Electric and Gas. Slide-in ranges get one entry on electric and two on dual-fuel.

Why does my Bosch range show ERR or toP during Self Clean?

The cooktop was activated while the cycle was running, and Bosch codes that. It exists only because one control runs both halves of a range. Turn the zone off, then start Self Clean again.

Why will my Bosch gas range not heat?

Bosch’s own chart starts with the regulator switch, which may simply be off. Past that it is the valve, igniter and burner side, and that is a technician’s job.

Does a Bosch gas range need anything special at Denver altitude?

Bosch tells installers to contact customer service above 2,000 feet, and Denver is well past that line. Bosch publishes no altitude kit and no Denver-specific procedure.

Do you repair Bosch induction ranges?

No. Induction ranges and induction cooktops sit outside what we service, so that is one call to place elsewhere.

How much does Bosch range repair cost?

It depends on which half of the appliance failed. We diagnose first and quote second, and you decide before any part is ordered.

How long does a Bosch range last?

We publish no lifespan figure, because Bosch does not, and every number circulating online is unsourced. Whether one is worth repairing comes down to which part failed.

Which Denver Metro areas do you cover for Bosch range repair?

Bosch range repair near me and Bosch stove repair reach this same team. So does Bosch range repair Denver, from Denver out through Aurora, Arvada and Centennial.
