Bosch Freezer Repair by Insured Denver Technicians

Bosch Freezer Repair Across Denver Metro

Bosch sells one freezer in the United States and files it under Refrigerators. That is why owners of an 18 inch Benchmark column cannot find their own machine.

Wilson & Myers handles Bosch freezer repair across the Denver Metro Area. Bosch built in freezer repair and Bosch freezer column repair reach the same team.

Insured technicians, EPA-608 certified where refrigerant is involved, and a 100-day labor warranty. We diagnose first and quote second, and you decide before any part is ordered.

One Model, Filed Where Nobody Looks

Bosch’s built-in single door category lists two products. One is a 30 inch refrigerator column, the other the freezer, B18IF905SP.

There is no Freezers category in the navigation. Three sources confirm the cabinet anyway.

  • The product page breadcrumb reads Single Door Refrigerators and Freezers.
  • Bosch’s parts navigation carries Freezer Parts, separate from Refrigeration Parts.
  • The federal EnergyGuide label classifies it Freezer, Upright Freezer, Automatic Defrost.

That last one is an FTC document rather than Bosch marketing.

One dimension is safe to quote and the rest are not. The cutout width is 18 inches, or 457 mm. Height and depth differ across three Bosch documents, so we measure the opening instead.

No Ice, and the Two Causes That Are Not Faults

Bosch’s Intended use sentence gives this cabinet two jobs: freezing food, and making ice. Ice is half of what the machine is for.

Start with the two benign explanations.

  • Ice cube production is a settings toggle, and Bosch lists it switched off as the first cause of an idle ice maker.
  • Sabbath mode switches the ice maker off, with the audible signals, the interior light and the display messages.

Sabbath mode runs 1 to 96 hours. A column gone quiet, dark and iceless for a day has a benign explanation.

The next cause is Bosch’s too. Leaving the ice shovel on the ice stops the fill level sensor reading the real level.

That fault is all Bosch publishes about the sensor. A container not fully inserted also stops the ice maker, in Bosch’s own table.

An empty container takes around 24 hours to fill, and Bosch asks you to discard the first 30 to 40 cubes.

The Water Circuit Behind the Ice

All the water on a Bosch column pair arrives here, and Bosch publishes real supply numbers for it.

  • Minimum 29 psi, and Bosch says low pressure impairs the functions that depend on it.
  • Maximum 116 psi, above which Bosch requires a pressure relief valve.
  • A shut-off valve must be installed, worded as a requirement rather than advice.
  • Drinking water only.

The filter is an UltraClarityPro BORPLFTR55, changed after six months at the latest. The counter is a separate settings item and does not reset itself.

Bosch allows a bypass cartridge instead, for a house that already filters. The counter is switched off and the cartridge never needs changing.

Bosch names a botched change as a leak source. Turn the cartridge too little and, in its words, escaping water causes damage.

  • Water off three hours first

Bosch requires the supply shut three hours before disconnecting, so standing water cannot grow mold.

  • A damaged water hose

Not a homeowner repair in Bosch’s words, which send it to customer service instead.

This Cabinet Talks in Sentences, Not Codes

The B18IF905SP manual contains no fault codes. Not one letter and not one number across 74 pages; its Faults chapter is plain language.

Bosch publishes three refrigeration entries brand-wide, and the two numbered codes both concern ice and water.

E03 is a dispenser fault, and this freezer has no dispenser. E02 covers the ice maker and its controls, hardware this cabinet does hold.

Bosch never states which models display E02, so we will not claim yours does.

What you get instead is a self-test and a fault list in words. The self-test is a menu item: settings, then Self-test, then Start.

Bosch publishes no pass criteria for it.

The temperature sensor wording that circulates for this brand belongs to the French door platform, and appears in neither column manual.

So the gap is ours. A clean self-test on a freezer that still will not hold temperature has not cleared the sealed system.

Demo mode is the other thing to rule out. Cooling is off, the display and lighting stay lit, and it looks like a dead compressor.

The catch is the window. That menu item appears for three minutes once the cabinet is switched on, then disappears. Switching the appliance off and on brings it back. We have seen demo mode sit unnoticed on a column for days, because that window is easy to miss.

NoFrost, and What Heavy Frost Then Means

Bosch states twice that NoFrost keeps this compartment frost-free and that defrosting is not required. The EnergyGuide class agrees, at Automatic Defrost.

So frost is information, and Bosch’s self-help page makes our argument.

  • Some frost is normal, and too much frost indicates a problem.
  • Check first that the door is closing properly.
  • If there is no issue with the door seal, professional help is needed.

Three normal behaviors get misread as faults.

  • A warm cabinet front

Bosch heats part of the housing on purpose, to stop condensation around the door seal.

  • A door that will not reopen

Low pressure needs seconds to equalize, then the door opens normally.

  • Cracking sounds

Bosch lists cracking as automatic defrosting, alongside droning, bubbling and clicking.

The settable range runs minus 11 to plus 7 degrees Fahrenheit. Bosch recommends 0 and Eco mode sets plus 3, so a Bosch freezer not freezing hard enough may only be on Eco.

The temperature alarm is a diagnostic gift, and it is easy to throw away. The message shows the warmest temperature the compartment reached, and acknowledging it restarts the count.

Write that number down before you clear it.

Getting a 332 lb Column Out Is the Job

Access is most of the work on a built-in freezer.

  • Anti-tip brackets must be attached to a stud or another weight-bearing structure.
  • The cabinet is raised to within 5/16 inch of that bracket, and Bosch prefers them touching.
  • The opening is designed for a floor load of 1100 lbs.
  • Bosch asks for two or more people to move the appliance into position.

Leveling it back to that bracket is part of the reinstall, and that reading is ours. Bosch built in freezer repair starts with planned access, not with rolling the cabinet out.

Bosch caps the 18 inch custom door panel at 127 lbs. It also asks for one hour of standing before power is connected, to protect the compressor.

Tell us if the column was plugged in the moment it landed. It changes what we check first.

Two Bosch cabinets installed close together bring in the HEATKITB82 heater kit, on a measured trigger.

  • Under 6 1/4 inches apart and not joined side by side, Bosch says buy the heater kit.
  • Bosch also recommends it above 65 percent humidity, which its own prose calls extreme humidity.
  • Cabinets joined side by side take a sealing kit instead, which Bosch includes with freezer column combinations.

Bosch never publishes what happens when either kit is missing, so neither do we.

Maintenance is two items: the six month filter, and vacuuming the ventilation openings yearly.

Altitude matters on Front Range addresses. This column’s Intended use limits it to 2,000 meters, or 6,562 feet. Denver at 5,280 feet sits inside that.

Evergreen, Conifer, Nederland and Idaho Springs are above that. The 13,100 foot figure you may have read belongs to the 800 Series French door.

What Bosch’s Own Warranty Says About Calling Us

Bosch’s own warranty document answers the objection homeowners raise about calling anyone else. These are Bosch’s words.

  • Service by a repair shop not affiliated with Bosch will not void the warranty.
  • Using third-party parts will not void the warranty either.

It cuts the other way as well. Bosch disclaims liability for the cost of reaching a product installed somewhere hard to get at.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Five free checks first. Each one can end the call before it starts.

  • The ice cube production toggle, and Sabbath mode if the whole cabinet has gone quiet.
  • The ice shovel, which blinds the fill level sensor if left on the ice.
  • The ice cube container, pushed fully into its recess.
  • Demo mode, in the three minute window after a power cycle.
  • The door seal, if frost is building in a NoFrost cabinet.

Call us when the freezer will not hold temperature after all five, or when frost returns with a sound seal.

Call us for the water side too. A damaged hose is Bosch’s own line for customer service, and the sealed system is EPA-608 work.

The refrigerant here is R600a, flammable, which is why ventilation openings stay clear and a defrost is never rushed with heat.

Coverage runs from Denver out through Aurora and Lakewood.

Combination cabinets, the dispenser and cooling faults belong to our Bosch refrigerator repair page. The rest of the kitchen sits on the Bosch kitchen appliances page, and the brand starts at Bosch appliance repair.

Other brands are on the freezer repair page, stand-alone machines on the ice maker repair page.

Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Bosch parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts.

Bosch Freezer Repair FAQ

Why is my Bosch freezer not making ice?

Check the ice cube production toggle and Sabbath mode first. Then the ice shovel, because leaving it on the ice blinds the fill level sensor.

What error code does a Bosch freezer show?

Its manual publishes none, and Bosch publishes no code list for this cabinet. E03 is a dispenser code and this freezer has no dispenser. E02 is Bosch’s ice maker code, and Bosch never says which models display it.

Bosch freezer not working, but the display and light are on?

Demo mode fits that exactly, and cooling is switched off in it. That menu item only appears for three minutes once you switch the cabinet on, so power off and on.

How much does Bosch freezer repair cost in Denver?

We diagnose first and quote second, and you decide before any part is ordered. Access on a built-in column is part of the job.

Bosch Freezer Column Not Making Ice?

Check the ice setting and Sabbath mode first, because both switch the ice maker off and neither is a fault. Then call us.
