Bosch publishes no error code for a refrigerator that will not cool. Its whole published fault list is three entries, and both of the real codes are about ice and water.
Wilson & Myers handles Bosch refrigerator repair and Bosch fridge repair across the Denver Metro Area. Bosch refrigerator service, Bosch fridge repairs and Bosch fridge freezer repairs reach the same team.
Insured technicians, EPA-608 certified where refrigerant is involved, and a 100-day labor warranty. Bosch refrigerator repair service starts with a diagnosis, and you decide before any part is ordered.
Bosch’s US refrigeration error-code page lists exactly three things, and a fresh pull returned the same three.
Both real codes name hardware, and not every Bosch carries it. The spec sheet for the 30 inch Benchmark refrigerator column lists no ice maker and no water filter at all.
That is the whole vocabulary. Nothing about the compressor, the sealed system, the fans or the defrost circuit gets a code. A page offering thirty Bosch refrigerator error codes wrote them itself.
The plain meaning of E or d comes from the use and care manual for the 800 Series French door, not from the error-code page. Bosch’s first move there is a power cycle.
Bosch US sells three refrigeration families, and the series ladder runs 100, 500, 800 and Benchmark. There is no 300 Series refrigerator, whatever a parts listing told you.
Bosch refrigerator French door models at 36 inches, in standard and counter depth. The counter-depth B36CT80SNS runs two compressors and two evaporators, so a warm fridge and a cold freezer are separate circuits.
Includes the 24 inch cabinet Bosch positions for compact kitchens, on hidden hinges.
Panel ready at 36 inches, and 491.6 lbs net behind your own cabinet front.
84 inch cabinets Bosch itself calls columns, each a single purpose machine.
Not every Bosch is built that way. The spec sheet for the 33 inch 100 Series B33CM10SNS lists one compressor and one evaporator, so one circuit serves both compartments.
Bosch refrigerator counter depth cabinets still need their air gap. The B36CT80SNS cutout is 25 inches deep, and Bosch notes that figure already includes the required one inch of airflow.
What Bosch does not sell matters as much. No under-counter refrigeration, no wine or beverage cabinets, no side-by-side, no top-freezer.
Model numbers tell us more than a series name. Bosch’s own Home Connect pairing list groups B36CT80SNS, B36CL80SNS and B36CL80ENS together as French door machines. Bosch refrigerator 800 series and Bosch refrigerator 500 series questions end at the rating plate, where the model prints as the E-Nr.
A Bosch that lights up, answers every button and never gets cold is often in demo mode. Bosch’s own troubleshooting line names the cause.
The appliance is not cooling, the displays and lighting are lit, showroom mode is on. Bosch uses showroom mode in the fault table and demo mode in the settings menu for the same thing.
The 100 Series manual states that demo mode stays on even if the refrigerator powers off. Unplugging does not clear it, and the machine then looks exactly like a dead compressor.
Five exit procedures exist, and yours depends on the format.
Tell us your format when you book and we will name the sequence for your machine. A Bosch refrigerator not cooling and a Bosch fridge not cooling are one call.
Bosch documents a self-test the owner can start. In its own words, it displays faults that customer service can eliminate.
On the 800 Series French door, cut power for five minutes and switch the machine back on. Within the first two minutes, hold the menu key for ten seconds. On the 24 inch bottom freezer it is the freezer super key, held three to five seconds after switch-on. On the Benchmark columns it is a menu item, under settings.
Bosch publishes the signals for the French door platform. Two signals with the set temperature showing means the sensors are fine, and five signals with Er means it wants customer service involved. The column manuals give the way in and no pass criteria at all.
Read that pass wording again, because it is narrower than it sounds. Bosch says the temperature sensors are OK, not the sealed system and not the airflow. We have seen machines pass and still sit at room temperature, and that is our call.
Bosch refrigerator not making ice starts in the wrong compartment for most people. On this brand the ice hardware is freezer-side in every format Bosch documents. The one Bosch freezer sold here is an 18-inch built-in column, and its ice maker, bin and filter are on our Bosch freezer repair page.
The 100 Series manual puts it plainly. The ice maker sits inside the freezer compartment near the top, with the ice stored in a box in the upper freezer drawer. On the 800 Series French door, production only begins once the freezer reaches its set temperature.
The proof is a pair of Benchmark columns on one platform. The 18 inch freezer column has an ice maker and an UltraClarityPro filter. The 30 inch refrigerator column lists no water filter and never mentions an ice maker.
That column split is the exception here, not the rule. Nearly everything Bosch sells here is a combination machine, so the ice maker sits inside the appliance you are standing in front of. Bosch fridge not making ice and Bosch refrigerator ice maker not working are calls for this page.
Water is a different path. The dispenser is fridge-side, internal on the 800 Series and in the door on the 100 and 500 Series French door. It shares the inlet valve, filter and line, then parts company.
One trap: on the 800 Series, holding the ice maker key for three seconds resets the filter change status. Owners hunting a Bosch refrigerator ice maker reset clear the reminder instead.
Freezer-only cabinets, including that Benchmark column, sit on our freezer repair page, and stand-alone ice equipment sits on our ice maker repair page.
Bosch publishes no component failure list for its US refrigerators. No failure modes, no rates, no service life. What it does publish is a symptom-to-cause table, and several entries are labeled not a fault.
Not a fault, in Bosch’s own words. That wall defrosts itself automatically at intervals.
Not a fault either. Bosch says modern refrigeration uses different power levels to cool more efficiently.
Not a fault. A motor runs, refrigerant moves, valves switch, ice drops into the bin.
Bosch offers no self-help step here and tells the owner to call customer service.
Altitude comes up on Front Range calls, and Bosch answers it in the intended-use statement for the 800 Series French door. That manual covers use up to 13,100 feet, and Denver sits at 5,280.
Bosch publishes no parts-failure list at all, so the one that follows is ours. Evaporator and condenser fans, defrost heaters, thermostats, thermistors, air dampers, inlet valves, door gaskets, control electronics.
Bosch’s own cause for water leaking out is a water connection or hose that is not leak-tight. Bosch refrigerator leaking water can also end at a blocked drain, and that finding is ours rather than Bosch’s. Bosch refrigerator not working covers everything above until somebody opens the machine.
Bosch names its refrigerant on some platforms and declines to on others, so we report it that way. The Benchmark column manuals and the B36CL80ENS manual name R600a and call it flammable. Every other platform says flammable refrigerant and points at the rating plate.
Three Bosch instructions stop reading like boilerplate once you know a hydrocarbon charge is in the tubes.
Bosch even sets a minimum room volume, 35 cubic feet per 0.3 ounces of charge. Opening a sealed system is refrigerant work, and EPA-608 is the credential our technicians hold for it.
Four free checks first, because each one can end the call before it starts.
Call us when the temperature will not hold after all four. Call us when the self-test reports Er, or when E or d returns after a power cycle. Call us as well when the machine is built in, because a 491.6 lb cabinet behind a custom panel is not a pull-it-out-and-look job.
Book online and tell us the format, the series and the model number from the rating plate.
Access is planned, not improvised, because a built-in or a column does not simply roll out. A cooling failure carries no Bosch code at all, so that diagnosis is ours to make on the machine.
Coverage runs from Denver out through Aurora and Highlands Ranch. The rest of the kitchen sits on our Bosch kitchen appliances page, and the brand starts at Bosch appliance repair. Every brand we handle is on the refrigerator repair page.
Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Bosch parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts.
Bosch publishes three entries and only two are real codes. E02 is the ice maker or its controls, E03 the dispenser interface. A plain E or d means the electronics latched a fault without naming it.
Check demo mode first. Bosch lists showroom mode as the cause of exactly that symptom, and says the mode survives a power cut.
Ice is freezer hardware on this brand, near the top of the freezer compartment, with the bin in the upper drawer. Production starts only once the freezer holds its set temperature.
On the 800 Series French door, cut power for five minutes, switch on, then hold menu for ten seconds. Two signals means the sensors are fine. That pass covers the sensors only, so a fridge that passes and still will not cool is ours.
No. Bosch refrigeration runs 100, 500, 800 and Benchmark in the US. The 300 Series exists in Bosch dishwashers and laundry, which is where the confusion starts.
Bosch sells neither format in the US. For another brand’s wine cabinet, see our wine cooler repair page.
We diagnose first and quote second, and you decide before any part is ordered. A dual-compressor B36CT80SNS and a single-circuit 100 Series carry different parts for the same complaint.
Bosch publishes no service life for its US refrigerators, so any number you read is somebody’s estimate. Format decides more than years here, because a column built into your cabinetry is worth repairing longer than a freestanding machine.
Check demo mode first, and note that it survives a power cut, so unplugging will not clear it. If it still will not cool, book us.
