6. Is cooling switched on, and are the controls set right? Factory settings are 37 degrees for the refrigerator and 0 for the freezer.
7. Is it in showroom mode, and was it just installed? Maytag asks for 24 hours to reach temperature.

On the coils, Maytag contradicts almost every page you will find. Its wording is that there is typically no need for routine condenser cleaning in a normal home. It recommends every two to three months only where the environment is greasy or dusty, or where there is significant pet traffic.

It adds that some models do not require coil cleaning at all, and others can only be cleaned by a certified technician. So a Maytag refrigerator not cooling is worth diagnosing before anyone starts vacuuming.
