Thermador Dishwasher Repair by Insured Denver Technicians

Thermador Dishwasher Repair Across Denver Metro

If your machine is showing a code, read the next section before you call anyone. Three of the codes Thermador publishes are ones Thermador itself says are not appliance faults.

One of them is a garbage disposal that was never knocked out during installation. It presents as a dishwasher that will not drain, and no part is needed to put it right.

Wilson & Myers handles Thermador dishwasher repair and Thermador dishwasher service across the Denver Metro Area. Thermador dishwasher repair service reaches the same insured team, with a 100-day labor warranty on every repair.

E24, E6102 and E:61-02 All Describe the Drain Path

A Thermador dishwasher error code search goes badly for one reason. Thermador writes its codes in more than one format, and the results treat each format as a separate problem.

Thermador’s support site lists a short legacy set with E22, E24 and E25. It also lists a longer modern set with E6102, E6103 and E9240. On that same page it pairs three long codes with a hyphenated alias in the heading itself. The headings read E6102 / E61-02, E6103 / E61-03 and E9240 / E92-40.

The use and care guide for the current DWHD661EPR writes those codes with a colon. It prints E:61-02, E:61-03 and E:92-40, and never prints the short or long form.

What no Thermador document prints is a line joining the short codes to the long ones. Read the entries beside each other and the case is strong. E24 and E6102 list the same causes and the same remedies. A loose drain pump cover, a blocked pump, a kinked pump hose, a clogged air gap or drain hose. That is our reading of two entries that match, not something Thermador states.

Where Thermador does pair the formats, the hyphen sits before the last two digits. E6102 is E61-02, printed E:61-02 in the manual. E9240 is E92-40, printed E:92-40.

The rows below group the codes by the causes each entry lists. The grouping is ours. Thermador publishes the columns, not the rows.

Thermador dishwasher codes, grouped by the causes each entry lists
Legacy shortLong formCurrent manualCauses the entries list
E24, E25E6102, E6103E:61-02, E:61-03Drain pump cover loose or pump blocked, hose kinked, air gap or disposal plugged

E16, E17E3300, E3400not in this manualWater cannot enter, inlet hose kinked or damaged

So a reader typing Thermador dishwasher error code E24 and a reader looking at E:61-02 read the same list of causes. Those lists sit in two different Thermador documents. They land on different pages and get different advice, which is why the search results feel contradictory.

The Three Codes Thermador Says Are Not Faults

Thermador’s own wording, not our paraphrase. These three are worth checking before you book anything.

  1. E27, E9001, E:90-01. “There is no problem with the appliance.” Your house supply voltage is too low, and the fix is an electrician, not an appliance technician.
  2. E:61-02. “Not an appliance error.” The drain pump cover is loose or something is blocking the pump. Secure the cover until it clicks.
  3. E:61-03. “Not an appliance error.” Its first named cause is a garbage disposal still plugged. The knockout plug was never removed when the machine went in.

That last one is the most valuable line on this page. A brand new Thermador that has never drained properly is very often an installation that skipped one step.

There is also a display that is not a code at all. UP means the software updated, and Thermador’s instruction is to press any program button to clear it.

The Codes That Do Mean a Technician

Six of Thermador’s long codes point at the main control board. Its first instruction on every one of them is identical and free. Cut power at the breaker for 30 seconds.

Thermador dishwasher codes that need a visit
CodeWhat Thermador saysFirst move
E0100, E0103, E0106, E0107Motor circuit, relay or diverter fault at the control boardReset at the breaker 30 seconds, then service
E0110Failure causing electronics miscommunicationContact service
E6900Detergent dispenser solenoid circuit faultReset 30 seconds, then service
E8000Door sensor circuit faultReset 30 seconds, then service
E2120Zeolite chamber heater fault, which Thermador brands Crystal DryReset 30 seconds, then service
E2130The Zeolite fan motor is defectiveReset 30 seconds, then service
E6160Zone Control lower spray arm reference position not foundContact service
E6002The heat pump is blockedReset 30 seconds, then service
E:31-00, E:30-00, E:34-00Water protection system activatedClose the supply valve, then service

Two of those deserve a note. E6160 and E:92-10 both concern the lower spray arm, and they exist because a Thermador knows where that arm should be. Refit it wrongly after cleaning the filter and you get a code rather than a quietly bad wash.

And a Thermador dishwasher not starting with a dark panel is often not broken. On top-control machines the display lights only when the door is open. On face-control machines it lights only when the door is closed.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Work Thermador’s own free list first, because a good share of these calls end there.

A Thermador dishwasher not draining and a Thermador dishwasher water not draining start at the drain path. Thermador’s order of blame: the garbage disposal and air gap, then the drain pump, then the filter. Then the installation causes. A drain hose without a high loop between 20 and 50 inches above the floor, or a run longer than 150 inches.

A Thermador dishwasher not filling with water starts at the supply valve under the sink and a kinked line. Thermador’s stated requirement is a flow of at least 10 litres per minute at the open valve.

A Thermador dishwasher not cleaning dishes starts by spinning each spray arm by hand. Thermador’s words are that they should rotate freely, and that clogged nozzles clear with a toothpick under running water.

Call us when a code survives the 30-second breaker reset. Call us for a Thermador dishwasher leaking, a Thermador dishwasher making noise that is new, or anything on the control board list above.

Book online and give us the code exactly as it appears, colon and hyphen included. The format tells us the machine generation before a technician leaves.

Thermador Dries Without a Heating Element

This is the complaint we get most, and on this brand it is usually the machine working as designed.

Thermador’s support page states it plainly. All its dishwashers use condensation drying, and that process uses no heating element at the bottom of the machine. The final rinse runs very hot, the stainless tub cools faster than the dishes, and the moisture condenses on the tub and drains away.

Which is why plastics come out wet. They never got hot enough to drive the process, and Thermador says so itself.

So a Thermador dishwasher not drying is measured against the wrong expectation more often than it is faulty. Thermador’s own causes are rinse aid set too low, a cycle chosen without drying, dishes not sloped, and a detergent that dries poorly. It dispenses roughly 3.5 drops of rinse aid per cycle, and a full dispenser lasts about 30 washes.

The current custom-panel machine adds a Zeolite container, which Thermador brands Crystal Dry, and it carries its own two error codes. Its manual also warns that the container’s outlet opening gets hot enough to burn. We will not tell you every Thermador has it, because Thermador does not say that either.

Installation Faults That Present as a Broken Dishwasher

Every row here is a Thermador statement, and every one of them looks like a failed appliance to the person standing in front of it.

Thermador dishwasher, installation causes with appliance symptoms
What you seeWhat it actually is
Will not drain, code E:61-03Garbage disposal knockout plug never removed
Standing water in the tubDrain hose has no high loop between 20 and 50 inches above the floor
Will not drainDrain hose run, air gap included, is longer than 150 inches
Water at the door, gaps at the topThe machine is not level on its feet
Leaks from the door instead of ventingThe condensation vent on the side of the machine is blocked
Long cycles and poor resultsPlumbed to a cold supply rather than hot
E:32-00, will not fillSupply valve closed, line kinked, or flow under 10 litres per minute
A panel-ready door that will not sit rightPanel weight outside 7 to 24 pounds, or the drilling template misaligned

Thermador also lists a door leak cause that sounds like a joke and is not. If the wrong detergent was used, its remedy is a tablespoon of vegetable oil in the bottom of the machine, then run a cycle.

Long cycle times have four sourced causes and none is a fault. Incoming water not hot enough, heavily soiled loads extending the sensor-driven cycle, an empty rinse aid dispenser, a cold water connection. Thermador’s advice is to run the hot tap at the nearest sink before starting.

How a Thermador Dishwasher Visit Runs

The code first, in whichever of the three formats your machine speaks, then the free checks behind it. Then the water path, because most of this brand’s complaints live there.

Access matters on the panel-ready half of the line. A Thermador panel-ready dishwasher and a Thermador built-in dishwasher wear your cabinetry on the front, fully integrated into the run. That panel comes off first.

What we actually work on

The parts that come up are the wash pump and the drain pump, the spray arm and its position sensing. Then the inlet valve, the float switch and the heating element. Then the door seal or door gasket, the control panel and the control module. Thermador dishwasher pump repair, Thermador dishwasher spray arm repair and Thermador dishwasher control board repair are the three that account for most visits.

One honest note on doors. Thermador dishwasher door latch repair, Thermador dishwasher door spring repair and a Thermador dishwasher door spring broken are all things customers bring us. We do them. But Thermador names no latch, door spring or thermal fuse part in the documents we hold. So we will not quote a part number we cannot source.

Every current model is a tall tub with a third rack, a built-in water softener and a model number starting DWHD. Check the badge inside your door. Thermador Masterpiece dishwasher and Thermador Professional dishwasher describe the handle and panel system. The current line includes the Star Sapphire dishwasher and the Thermador Emerald dishwasher.

Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Thermador parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Coverage across every brand sits on our dishwasher repair page.

The rest of the kitchen is on our Thermador kitchen appliances page, with Thermador refrigerator repair and Thermador freezer repair alongside it. The brand starts from Thermador appliance repair.

Thermador Dishwasher Repair FAQ

What does Thermador dishwasher error code E24 mean?

The drain pump cover is loose, the pump is blocked, the hose is kinked, or the air gap or disposal is plugged. Thermador lists those same causes under E6102, which its own support page also writes as E61-02. The current use and care guide prints that code as E:61-02 and calls it not an appliance error.

Why is my Thermador dishwasher not draining?

Check in Thermador’s order: the garbage disposal and air gap, the drain pump and its cover, then the filter. If the machine is newly installed, check the disposal knockout plug was removed, because that is the first cause Thermador names.

Why won’t my Thermador dishwasher start?

Check the door first, since the display only lights with the door open on top-control models and closed on face-control models. Then delay start, then whether the previous cycle finished. A code surviving a 30-second breaker reset is a service call.

What are common Thermador dishwasher problems?

Drain path complaints lead by a distance, then poor drying that is usually the condensation system working normally, then filling faults at the supply valve. Genuine board failures are a smaller share than the code list suggests.

How much does Thermador dishwasher repair cost?

It moves with the fault, so a single figure would be a guess. A blocked drain path and a control board are not the same job. We diagnose first, quote second, and you decide before any part is ordered.

Is it worth repairing a Thermador dishwasher?

Usually. The machine is plumbed into your cabinetry and half the line wears a custom panel, so replacing it is joinery as well as appliance cost. We will say plainly when the numbers point the other way.

How long does a Thermador dishwasher last?

We publish no figure, because Thermador does not, and every number circulating online is unsourced. Water hardness, what goes in the filter and whether it was installed correctly matter more than the badge.

Do you handle Thermador dishwasher customer service questions too?

Warranty and parts entitlement run through Thermador’s own channels, and we will tell you when that is the better call. Out of coverage, we book the work directly.

Which Denver Metro areas do you cover for Thermador dishwasher repair?

The whole metro, from the city out through the surrounding suburbs. Coverage for the city itself sits on our appliance repair in Denver page. Searching Thermador dishwasher repair near me from anywhere in the metro reaches the same team.
