Start with the thing that will save you an evening. Your Thermador refrigerator has no error codes. Thermador publishes a code table for nine appliance categories and refrigeration is not one of them. A code you found online for a Thermador fridge came from somewhere other than Thermador.
What the machine will give you is a self-test, and the keystrokes for it are in a document nobody has put on a web page. They are further down.
Wilson & Myers handles Thermador refrigerator repair and Thermador fridge repair across the Denver Metro Area. Thermador refrigerator service and Thermador fridge service reach the same team. Insured technicians, EPA-608 certified where refrigerant is involved, and a 100-day labor warranty on every repair.
This is the split that decides your visit, and every page ranking for this brand treats “Thermador refrigerator” as one thing. It is four platforms with four different service documents.
Separate single-purpose cabinets, each with its own sealed system, each individually replaceable, each behind a custom panel. A five-row fault table and a self-test.
A newer manual generation entirely. NoFrost is named, and it shows a Door Alarm, a Freezer High Temp. Alarm and a “D” or “E” message.
The same newer generation, in counter-depth and standard cabinets, with its own troubleshooting table.
A third manual style entirely, with its own high-temperature alarm shown as “HI”.
A column installation is several appliances pretending to be one wall. A French-door unit is one cabinet with one sealed system serving both compartments. The parts differ, the access differs, and the conversation about what a repair costs differs with them.
Tell us which you have when you book. On a column, tell us it is panel-ready, because the custom front comes off before anything else does.
The Freedom Collection is Thermador’s name for the refrigeration line. A Thermador Masterpiece refrigerator and a Thermador Professional refrigerator differ in handle and panel system, and that decides the access.
On the column and wine platforms, Thermador’s own wording is plain. The appliance features a self-test program which displays the fault your service company can rectify.
It runs from the settings menu. Move to the self-test entry and start it. The appliance reports what it found, restarts itself, and shows a completion message for about ten seconds.
That is the whole diagnostic surface. There is no code to photograph and no fault history to read back. That is why a phone diagnosis on this brand is worth so little, and why the visit starts by running it.
On the newer combination platform the machine speaks differently. A message containing “D” or “E” means the electronics detected a fault. Thermador’s instruction is to switch off, disconnect at the plug or breaker, wait five minutes and reconnect. If it returns, it is ours.
A Thermador refrigerator not cooling and a Thermador fridge not cooling are the same call, and it starts at demo mode and the vents. A Thermador refrigerator temperature fluctuating points at the door seal or the load before it points at a part.
Beyond that the list is short and physical. Thermador refrigerator door seal repair, and a Thermador refrigerator not defrosting on a NoFrost platform. A Thermador refrigerator making noise from a fan, and Thermador refrigerator leaking water where a drain has blocked.
A Thermador refrigerator water dispenser not working is its own path: the supply, the filter, then the water inlet valve. The parts that actually come up are short. An evaporator coil, a condenser, a fan, a thermistor. A defrost heater or defrost thermostat, a control module, a water filter, a blocked drain pan. Thermador refrigerator compressor repair and Thermador refrigerator control board repair are the expensive end, and both get an honest recommendation before anything is ordered.
A Door Alarm is a warning tone and the words, and it means the door is open. A Freezer High Temp. Alarm offers to show you the warmest temperature reached, which you confirm and then recheck after several hours.
“HI” on an under counter unit is the high-temperature alarm. Thermador’s own causes are frequent opening, covered vents, warm product loaded, a warm room, or a door gasket not sealing. Four of those five are not a broken appliance.
Two checks first, because both are free and both end a fair number of calls.
Demo mode. A Thermador that lights up, chimes and refuses to cool is very often in the retail display mode. It is Thermador’s own fourth listed cause on one platform and its first on the newer one. The machine is doing exactly what that mode asks of it.
The vents. A column breathes through its toe-kick grille. Packed, blocked or carpeted over, it will not hold temperature, and the manual prohibits obstructing those openings for a reason we come back to below.
Call us when temperature will not hold after both of those, or when the self-test reports something. Call us when a “D” or “E” message survives a five-minute power cycle. Sealed system work is ours by certification as well as by preference.
Book online and tell us the format and the collection. Column, bottom freezer, freestanding or under counter, Masterpiece or Professional. It decides what comes off the front and which parts we bring.
The column and wine manuals name the refrigerant, and they name it as flammable. Their wording is that the circuit contains a small quantity of an environmentally friendly but flammable refrigerant. Escaping refrigerant, they say, may injure eyes or ignite.
Three instructions in those manuals read like boilerplate until you connect them to that one fact.
A customer who packs a column’s grille, or puts a heat gun on a frosted evaporator, is doing something the manufacturer specifically prohibits. The reason is the charge in the tubes. That is worth knowing before anyone opens anything.
One honesty note. The two newer combination manuals warn about escaping flammable refrigerant without naming the charge. So we say the column and wine manuals name R600a, rather than claiming every Thermador uses it.
Thermador builds 24 inch and 18 inch wine columns with glass doors, plus a 24 inch under counter unit. The marketing describes air filtration and humidity management, two or three independent temperature zones, and up to 92 bottles.
The service document says something quieter. The wine column’s guide carries the identical five-row fault table as the refrigerator column, with nothing added. No wine-specific fault, no humidity fault, no zone fault, no glass-door fault.
So Thermador wine refrigerator repair is column work, and Thermador wine fridge repair is the same call under another name. The same self-test, the same demo-mode trap, the same door and ventilation causes, plus a glass door and zones to set. Anyone offering you a long wine-specific fault list has written it themselves.
Access first, because on this brand it is not a formality. A panel-ready column comes forward out of a cabinet opening with your joinery on the front, and that gets planned rather than improvised.
Then the free checks: demo mode, the cooling switch, the grille, the door seals, the load and the room. Then the self-test, or on a combination unit the power-cycle test for a D or E message.
Then the sealed system, if that is where it has gone. There the EPA-608 certification stops being a formality and starts being the law. Sealed system work is also where repair against replacement deserves a straight answer, and you will get one before any part is ordered.
Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Thermador refrigerator parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Coverage across every brand sits on our refrigerator repair page.
A Thermador refrigerator not making ice is usually not a refrigerator fault on this brand. BSH documents the ice maker and the water line as freezer hardware, and only the freezer column’s manual carries an ice maker section.
So Thermador ice maker repair, a Thermador ice maker not working and a Thermador ice maker not making ice are all one call. A freezer call. That covers the ice maker assembly, the bin sensor and the water circuit feeding it.
The exception is a Thermador under-counter refrigerator or a combination unit, where the ice maker sits in the machine you are standing in front of. Tell us the format when you book and it stops being a guess.
Freezer columns, ice production and the water circuit are a different machine and sit on our Thermador freezer repair page. The rest of the kitchen is on our Thermador kitchen appliances page, and the brand starts from Thermador appliance repair.
There is no such thing. Thermador’s error code section covers nine appliance categories and refrigeration is not among them. Any Thermador fridge code list you have found was written by somebody other than Thermador.
Check demo mode before anything else. It lights the cabinet, chimes and deliberately does not cool, and it is Thermador’s own first or fourth listed cause depending on your platform. After that, the grille, the vents, the door seals and the load.
From the settings menu, move to the self-test entry and start it. The appliance reports what it found, restarts, and shows a completion message for around ten seconds. It is the only diagnostic the machine offers.
On the built-in and freestanding combination platforms it means the electronics detected a fault. Switch off, disconnect at the plug or the breaker, wait five minutes and reconnect. If it comes back, book a technician.
Yes, and it is most of this brand. A column comes forward out of its cabinet opening with your custom panel on the front. Tell us it is panel-ready when you book and we will plan the access rather than discover it.
Yes. A wine column is a column: same platform, same self-test, same fault table, plus a glass door and two or three temperature zones. We treat it as the refrigeration cabinet it is.
We do, across the metro. Cost moves with the platform and the part, so a single figure would be a guess. A column and a freestanding unit carry different components for the same complaint. We diagnose first, quote second.
Yes, and usually more so than on most brands. The machine is built into your cabinetry, so replacing it is joinery as well as appliance cost. A failed sealed system on an older cabinet is where the answer changes.
We publish no figure, because Thermador does not and every number circulating online is unsourced. Door seals, ventilation and how hard the room works the machine decide it more than the badge does.
The whole metro, from the city out through the surrounding suburbs. Coverage for the city itself sits on our appliance repair in Denver page. Searching Thermador refrigerator repair near me, Thermador fridge repair near me or Thermador refrigerator repair service near me all reach the same team.
Check demo mode first, then the toe-kick grille. If it still will not cool, tell us the format and we will bring the right parts.
