GE Kitchen Appliance Repair in Denver Metro

Seven GE machines route from this page, from a French door refrigerator to the Disposall under the sink. Two quick facts sort them out. The model number on the label names the machine and its page. The purchase date decides whether GE’s warranty still covers the repair.

Seven GE Machines, and Where Each One Goes

Read the first letters of the model number before anything else. On most of this branch they name the machine, though a few look alike across two machines.

A range or oven belongs in GE cooking appliances, and a washer or dryer in GE laundry appliances.

  • Refrigerator: GE refrigerators in top-freezer, side-by-side, French door, bottom-freezer and compact styles, with model numbers such as GTE, GSS, GNE and GBE. Their freezer sections are covered there too.
  • Freezer: GE’s standalone chest and upright freezers, with model numbers starting FC for a chest or FU for an upright. GE files them apart from its refrigerators, with their own manuals.
  • Ice maker: the ice maker inside a GE refrigerator shares a page with GE’s 15-inch undercounter UNC15NP and UCC15NP machines. GE Profile’s countertop Opal ice maker sits outside what we service.
  • Wine cooler: GE’s single-zone wine and beverage centers, from the current GVS04BQNSS back to older GWS and GWR models.
  • Dishwasher: GE’s built-in and portable dishwashers, with model numbers starting GDF, GDT, GDP or GPT, plus the 18-inch panel-ready UDT165. A GDE model, one letter away, is a refrigerator.
  • Garbage disposal: the GE Disposall, with model numbers starting GFC, from 1/3 to 1 HP, corded or wired direct. The same page covers the discontinued batch-feed GFB760N.
  • Trash compactor: GE’s Universal 15-inch built-in compactors, the UCG1500 and UCG1600 series. GE’s catalog badges the GCG1500 through GCG1700 as GE Profile, and we repair those on the same page.

Telling GE From GE Profile, Café and Monogram

The model number settles the badge. On a refrigerator, dishwasher or wine unit, a model number that starts with P means GE Profile. Every GE-badge wine unit has a single cooling zone, so a two-zone cabinet is not one of them.

  • GE Profile: refrigerators and dishwashers numbered P, every drawer dishwasher in GE’s catalog, and its only two-zone wine unit. GE Profile machines are on our GE Profile page.
  • Café: its two-zone wine center and its beverage centers carry the Café badge, not GE. Café machines are on our Café page.
  • Monogram: GE’s catalog badges the two-zone undercounter wine reserve, the ZDT165 dishwasher and the 12-inch compactors as Monogram. Monogram machines are on our Monogram page.
  • Still GE: the UNC15NP and UCC15NP undercounter ice machines, which GE files under its own brand. Their door kits come in Monogram, Profile and Café styles.

One Year on Five of These Machines, Longer on Two

GE’s terms run from the original purchase date, and GE asks for proof of it. Without that proof, GE uses the manufacturing date to set the warranty period. Inside the term, a covered defect goes to GE’s warranty service. Past it, the repair is ours.

  • Refrigerators

One year on the whole refrigerator, parts and labor, factory ice maker included. The five-year sealed-system line in shared manuals is not for the GE badge.

  • Standalone freezers

One year, parts and labor. GE prints no extra sealed-system term, and food lost to spoilage is excluded.

  • Undercounter ice machines

One year on the whole machine, and five years from purchase on the sealed refrigeration system.

  • Wine and beverage center

One year on the whole unit, parts and labor.

  • Dishwashers

One year, parts and labor. None of GE’s current dishwasher manuals prints a longer term.

  • GE Disposall

Seven years on 1/3 and 1/2 HP models, ten years on 3/4 and 1 HP, by GE’s current manuals.

  • Compactors

One year, parts and labor, on the Universal UCG models.

The Denver Garage Question, in GE’s Own Numbers

An unheated garage in a Denver Metro winter can fall below freezing. GE rates its current standalone freezers down to 0°F. One 2014 chest family was rated only to 32°F, so an older freezer’s own manual decides. GE’s Garage Ready refrigerators are rated only to 38°F, which is above freezing.

Each machine in the table below has its own page. The freezer row goes to our GE freezer page, and the three refrigerator rows to our GE refrigerator page. The ice machine row goes to the GE ice maker page, and the wine center row to the GE wine cooler page.

GE’s dishwasher, Disposall and compactor warranties each exclude damage from operating in freezing temperatures. The UNC15NP ice machine manual goes further. Running outside its limits can cause problems the warranty does not cover.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Every GE kitchen appliance repair we book starts from three facts you can check yourself. Read the model number off the label. Find the purchase date, since GE’s warranty service handles a covered defect inside the term. Note the room the machine sits in, because GE’s room limits differ by machine.

Once GE’s term has run out, we take the repair. Our technicians are insured, and those handling refrigerant are EPA-608 certified. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts.

In my experience, the model number tells us more than a long description of the fault. Book your visit online with the model number and a line about what the machine is doing. We work across the Denver Metro Area.

GE Kitchen Appliance Repair FAQ

Is the ice maker in my GE refrigerator on the refrigerator page or the ice maker page?

On the ice maker page. It covers the ice maker inside a GE refrigerator, along with GE’s undercounter ice machines.

The rest of the refrigerator, freezer section included, stays on the refrigerator page. Only a standalone chest or upright freezer, numbered FC or FU, goes to the freezer page.

Is there a GE kitchen appliance you do not repair?

Countertop ice makers, including GE Profile’s Opal, sit outside what we service. A GE-badge refrigerator, freezer, ice machine, wine center, dishwasher, Disposall or compactor is ours whenever GE’s warranty does not cover the fault.

GE Profile, Café, Monogram and Hotpoint machines have their own pages on our site. The model number tells you which badge you own.

I bought a house with GE kitchen appliances already installed. Does the warranty carry over?

It can. GE extends these warranties to the original purchaser and any succeeding owner, for products bought for home use in the USA.

The term still runs from the original purchase date, and GE asks for proof of that date. Ask the seller for the receipt. Without one, GE uses the manufacturing date, so appliances in a recently built home may still be inside the term.

My dishwasher’s manual says GE, but the machine says Hotpoint. Which page is mine?

The model number decides, not the manual. GE’s manual for its plastic and hybrid tub dishwashers also covers Hotpoint models. An HDF310 is one of them.

That machine belongs on our Hotpoint page, not in this branch.

Which GE Kitchen Appliance Stopped Working?

Add the model number from its label when you book, so we know the machine and its badge. The purchase date decides whether GE's warranty still applies.
