Insured Amana Repair in Denver Metro: Kitchen Appliances

Amana Kitchen Appliances We Service

We repair Amana top-freezer, bottom-freezer and side-by-side refrigerators, chest and upright freezers, refrigerator ice makers and built-in dishwashers. Among current models, only the side-by-sides have a factory ice maker.

Amana Kitchen Appliance Repair for Denver Metro Homes

A warm refrigerator, a freezer that runs without freezing or a dishwasher holding water: Amana kitchen appliance repair starts with which machine it is. This page sorts the four kitchen classes. It also shows what the model number changes and which warranty and recall checks come before any repair.

Four Machines, Four Pages

Amana kitchen repairs split into four pages here: refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers and the ice makers that sit inside refrigerators. Start from the machine rather than the symptom. A top-freezer that makes no ice belongs on the ice maker page, not the refrigerator page.

Ranges and ovens are not on this branch. They sit on the Amana cooking appliances page, and every other branch starts from our main Amana page.

  • Refrigerators: top-freezer ARTX and ART, bottom-freezer ABB and side-by-side ASI models, plus older units still in homes. Cooling, controls, defrost and water dispenser faults go to our Amana refrigerator page.
  • Freezers: the AZCC2316T chest freezer in Amana’s current line, the AZC and AQC chest models in homes, and AZF upright freezers. All of them go to the Amana freezer page.
  • Ice makers: factory-installed in the ASI side-by-sides, an optional kit on top- and bottom-freezer models. Making and dispensing ice, and the kits, go to the Amana ice maker page.
  • Dishwashers: the built-in ADFS2524R in Amana’s current line, plus the older ADB models still in homes. Draining, washing and drying faults go to the Amana dishwasher page.

What the Model Number Changes

Amana prints controls, lights and codes model by model, not as one set for the whole brand. So the plate, not the badge, decides which guide answers your symptom.

The letters at the front tell the class. In Amana’s own records, ARTX and ART mean top-freezer, ABB bottom-freezer and ASI side-by-side. Chest freezers start AZC, AZCC, AZCN, AQC or AFC, uprights AZF or AFU, and dishwashers ADB or ADFS.

Where a model takes an ice maker kit, its water line is a separate job, and we install refrigerator water lines. Two model facts change a kitchen call early.

  • Garage Ready

ARTX2419S is the one current Amana top-freezer sold as Garage Ready. Amana’s manual for the ARTX2419S sets the freezer knob to Garage Ready between 38°F and 55°F. Check that knob before booking a garage call.

  • Factory ice or kit

Among current models, only the ASI side-by-sides leave the factory with an ice maker. Amana lists it as optional on every current top- and bottom-freezer family. So no ice may mean none is fitted.

One Year From Amana, Then the Choice Is Yours

Amana’s warranty gives one year of parts and labor on every current kitchen class. The 2023 texts count that year from delivery. Older texts count from purchase. No Amana refrigerator or freezer warranty we have read adds a longer term for the sealed system.

Inside that year, the free route is Amana’s warranty service, booked through the contact printed on your Amana warranty. We are not that service. After year one, the repair is yours to buy and ours to do.

Amana’s 2023 texts say that using an outside servicer or third-party parts will not void the warranty. Damage that work causes is excluded. A 2021 text without that sentence covers the AZC5216L and AQC0902L chest freezers. The AZF33X uprights appear on both texts.

The same texts exclude consumables like water filters and bulbs, and any unit whose serial plate is removed or unreadable. One older exception: Amana’s 2009 warranty on the ADB2200AW and ADB1200AW dishwashers printed longer terms on certain parts and on tub leaks. Whether those terms are honored today is not stated. Read your own warranty paper first.

Recall Records That Include Amana-Brand Kitchen Units

Each record below also covers other brands, with Amana-brand units included.

Record 09-145 covers side-by-side and top-freezer refrigerators sold January 2001 through January 2004, for a compressor relay that can overheat and start a fire. A unit matches by how its model number begins and its serial ends. Bottom-freezers are not part of it.

Record 10-255 covers plastic-tub dishwashers sold February 2006 through April 2010, matched by serial number. Their heating element can fail and start a fire. The notice tells owners of a matching unit to stop using it and switch off its breaker or fuse.

Record 05-279 covers upright freezers whose models begin AFU1567, AFU1767 or AFU2067, made September 2002 through February 2004. Their defrost heater coil can become exposed: a shock hazard, and the wire can melt or burn the liner. CPSC says to unplug and stop using unrepaired units.

Record 95-023 covers Amana side-by-sides made April 1993 through September 8, 1994, with serials 9304000000 through 9409156208. A light-cover screw can touch a concealed wire and give a shock.

CPSC lists a free remedy for each record; whether it is still offered is not stated. A recalled unit goes to its remedy before any paid repair, so we read your plate against these records first. You can run the same check:

  1. Find the plate: on a refrigerator, look first high inside the fresh-food compartment. On a dishwasher, check the tub edge just inside the door. AFU uprights carry it inside the cabinet.
  2. Copy both numbers: the full model and serial, every letter included.
  3. Compare or send: check them against the CPSC record, or give them to us when you book and we check.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Before you book, gather the model and serial numbers, the delivery or purchase date and what the machine is doing. The date decides whether Amana’s warranty service or we should take the job. The plate settles the recall question.

Past those checks, the repair is ours. Our insured technicians work on all four, and refrigerant work on a refrigerator or freezer goes to our EPA-608 certified technicians. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Every paid repair carries our 100-day labor warranty on the work on your invoice.

In my experience, the plate tells me more than the symptom does, because Amana’s guides differ from one model family to the next. When you are ready, book a kitchen repair online. Name every machine that needs us.

Amana Kitchen Appliance Repair FAQ

  • Does Amana's warranty pay for food lost when a refrigerator or freezer fails?

No. The Amana warranty texts we have read name loss of food or medicine among the damages they exclude. The older chest freezer texts say the same. In year one, the warranty pays for the covered repair and nothing beyond it.

  • Can one visit cover an Amana refrigerator and a dishwasher?

Yes. Name both machines and both model numbers when you book, and the visit is planned for both. Each one is diagnosed and quoted on its own.

  • Does Amana make a standalone ice machine or a wine cooler?

No. Amana makes neither, so an Amana ice maker is either factory-installed or added as a kit. Refrigerator ice questions go to the ice maker page. Amana’s manual for the AZF33X uprights says a kit fits some models, and the freezer page covers that case.

  • Why do you need the serial number as well as the model?

The recall records match units by serial as well as model. Amana’s warranty asks for both, too. Its texts exclude a unit whose serial plate is removed or unreadable, so leave the plate in place.

  • Do you repair older Amana French-door refrigerators?

Yes. Amana’s French-door models, such as the AFI2538AE, are documented in its library rather than in its current line. They go to the refrigerator page like any other Amana refrigerator.
