Insured Kenmore Repair in Denver Metro: Cooking Appliances

Kenmore Cooking Appliance Repair Across Denver Metro

Kenmore still sells one cooking machine we repair: the range. We take its gas and radiant electric models. We do not take Kenmore’s two induction ranges, the 22-96853 and 22-96873, or any over-the-range or countertop Kenmore microwave. Wall ovens, cooktops and hoods are older classes Kenmore no longer sells, and we repair the ones still in Denver homes.

Range, Oven or Older Built-In: Where Each Goes

A Kenmore range is one machine split across two of our pages. Surface burners and elements, their ignition and the controls belong to the range page. The oven cavity belongs to the oven page. Codes split along the same line, oven-cavity codes to the oven and control or cooktop codes to the range.

Built-In or Freestanding: Telling Them Apart

Some Kenmore cooking machines pass for one another across a kitchen. Here is which page each one takes.

  • Range or cooktop over a wall oven

A range carries its burners and its oven in one body, under one plate. A cooktop set above a wall oven is two machines, with two plates and two pages.

  • 24-inch slide-in or compact range

Kenmore’s site files its 24-inch compacts as slide-in ranges. Their guides describe a freestanding range on four adjustable feet, so they take the range page.

  • Microwave fan or range hood

A microwave hung over the range is still a microwave, even with a vent fan inside, and we do not take it. A hood is a separate fan unit, under a cabinet or on a chimney.

  • Downdraft cooktop or hood

The vent built into a Kenmore Elite downdraft cooktop stays with the cooktop page, not the hood page.

Badge and Plate on a Kenmore Cooking Machine

Every current Kenmore range wears the plain Kenmore badge, with no Elite version on sale. Older Elite ranges, wall ovens and cooktops are still in service. Each one goes to its machine’s page. Kenmore PRO is no longer sold, and its older ranges, wall ovens, gas cooktops and chimney hoods follow the same rule.

Read the plate, not the receipt. Kenmore’s site lists item numbers such as 22-96833, while that range’s plate begins 982.9683. Current range guides print 405 or 982, except on the 24-inch and 4.8 cu ft models, whose guides print none. No source we found names who built any current range.

One Year on Ranges, Older Terms Elsewhere

Each Kenmore cooking machine carries its own warranty text, and a claim needs proof of the original sale. If a term still runs, the claim goes to Kenmore’s warranty service, through the store that sold it. When the term ends, the repair is ours. The same goes for anything it excludes.

One exclusion runs across the branch. Kenmore excludes service on any machine with a missing or altered model and serial plate, so leave it attached.

  • Ranges, oven included

Kenmore’s warranty page gives one year on the appliance. Guides for its 4.8 cu ft models add longer terms on the glass top, burners, elements and oven door glass. Kenmore does not say which of the two texts governs.

  • Wall ovens and cooktops

Kenmore’s warranty page is silent on both. Their old guides and Kenmore’s own records disagree on the original length, so the receipt decides whether anything is left.

  • Range hoods

One year in all five Kenmore hood guides, with thirty days on painted and bright metal finishes. Kenmore’s warranty page prints nothing for hoods.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

A few checks are yours first. Copy the full number from the plate and find the receipt. Then run the checks on your machine’s page, taken from Kenmore’s own guide.

After that, Kenmore cooking appliance repair is our job. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Our insured technicians cover the whole Denver Metro Area, on gas and electric machines alike.

We have seen Kenmore ranges of the same size follow different guides and code tables, so the plate number comes first. Every paid repair carries our 100-day labor warranty on the work on your invoice. Have the number ready and book a repair online.

Kenmore Cooking Appliance Repair FAQ

  • Is my Kenmore oven problem on the range page or the oven page?

Use the oven page if the fault is in the oven: baking, broiling, cleaning, the door lock or an oven code. Burners and control codes stay on the range page.

  • Do you repair Kenmore microwaves?

Not the over-the-range or countertop models: those sit outside what we service. A combination wall oven, a built-in microwave above an oven, goes to our wall oven page.

  • Is there a high-altitude kit for Kenmore gas ranges and cooktops?

None of the current Kenmore range guides mentions one, and neither do the cooktop, wall oven and hood guides we read. Some current gas range guides carry altitude notes, which our range page quotes. The cooktop, wall oven and hood guides we read say nothing about altitude.

  • Could an older Kenmore range or wall oven be under recall?

Some are, on CPSC’s record. Our range and wall oven pages list the recalls we found by model; confirm yours at cpsc.gov. A recalled unit is not ours to repair: follow the remedy the notice gives.
