Samsung Laundry Appliance Repair in Denver Metro

Samsung washers and dryers fail differently and get diagnosed differently, so this page exists to send you to the right one. Wilson & Myers services Samsung laundry across Denver Metro, from side by side basement pairs to stacked closet installs. Our technicians are insured, and we diagnose first and quote second, so you decide before any part is ordered.

Washer or Dryer: The Two Pages Under This One

Two appliance pages sit beneath this category, and each covers a machine rather than a symptom. Pick by the unit that is misbehaving, not by the load that came out wrong.

Samsung washer repair takes front load, compact front load and top load machines. That is the page for water left in the tub, a spin that never starts, a leak or a machine that walks.

Samsung dryer repair takes vented electric, vented gas and ventless heat pump machines. That is the page for damp laundry, a drum turning without heat, a vent result code or a condensate tank that reads full.

The Samsung Laundry We Work On

Samsung sells more laundry shapes in the United States than most brands, and the shape decides the job. The current catalogue runs to at least six full size front load washers, two compact front load models and eight top load models. On the dryer side there are at least twelve full size vented machines, one vented compact model and three ventless heat pump models.

That ratio is worth knowing before you call anyone. Samsung is overwhelmingly a vented dryer brand with a small heat pump line beside it. A technician who assumes every recent dryer is ventless will hunt for a duct that is not there, or ignore one that is.

  • Front load washers, the WF and WW prefixes, with the compact pair built for closets and columns
  • Top load washers, the WA prefix, which carry no removable pump filter anywhere on the machine
  • Vented dryers, the DVE and DVG codes, electric on 240 volts and gas on automatic ignition
  • Ventless heat pump dryers, which condense the water instead of exhausting it outdoors
  • FlexWash dual drum washers, the WV60, withdrawn from sale and still serviceable where one is installed

Washer dryer combination units and the single cabinet Laundry Hub carry WD and WH prefixes instead. Those are one machine doing two jobs rather than a pair. Give us the prefix when you book and we will route it properly.

How Samsung Laundry Sits in a Denver Metro Home

Where the pair lives decides a good part of what the visit involves. Denver Metro gives us four common arrangements, and each changes the access before anyone opens a panel.

  1. Side by side in a basement, which is the easiest to work on and common in older Denver houses
  2. Stacked in a second floor or hallway closet, where the dryer comes down before most work starts
  3. In an attached garage, where a gas dryer has to sit at least 18 inches above the floor
  4. On pedestals or a riser, which lifts both machines and changes the clearances around them

Samsung publishes the numbers that govern those spaces, so this part is measurement rather than opinion. Sides and top want an inch of clearance and the rear wants two. A washer needs roughly six inches of depth behind it for the drain hose run.

A washer and dryer sharing one closet need two unobstructed air openings in the front of the alcove, 72 square inches between them. It applies to a stacked pair too, and it is the rule most often missed in a converted closet.

Two more rules catch people in tight Denver laundry rooms. A drip pan is required whenever the machine sits above the ground floor. A low profile pan keeps a front load pump filter reachable.

Samsung washer doors cannot be reversed, so the hinge side decides which wall the machine can face. Dryer doors can be reversed, and Samsung publishes the procedure.

When Only One Half of a Stacked Pair Misbehaves

This is the question we field most often on Samsung laundry, and the answer is short. Book the machine that is wrong, not the stack. The two units are separate appliances bolted into one column, and each has its own board, display and fault log.

Telling them apart takes one cycle and no tools.

  1. Run the washer on its own and open the door at the end of the cycle
  2. A load that is dripping and heavy never finished draining or spinning, so it is a washer call
  3. A load that is wrung out and merely damp puts the fault on the dryer side
  4. Note which display showed the code, because neither machine reports the other one’s faults
  5. Check both circuits separately if nothing starts at all, since the pair does not share one

We have seen a stacked pair booked as a dryer fault when the washer below was leaving the load soaked.

The stack itself matters once the dryer is the faulty half. A stacked Samsung dryer comes down to the floor before most repairs begin, and that is a two person job with a lift. Heat pump models run heavier than the vented ones, so the step is not a formality.

Stacking kits are architecture specific and do not interchange. The vented 27 inch pairs, the heat pump dryers and the Bespoke heat pump combination each take their own kit. Samsung also permits stacking only where the washer is a front loader and the dryer sits on top.

The Symptom Guides We Have Already Written

Some of this you can settle without booking anyone, and we would rather you did. These guides walk the checks in order. They cover the symptom itself, while the two pages above cover the visit.

Start with our Samsung dryer not heating guide, which is written to these machines specifically and covers the heat side end to end. For a washer, read why a washer will not drain or what makes a washer leak from the bottom.

On the dryer side we also cover a drum that will not spin and dryer odours and what they mean. None of those is brand specific, and all of them apply to a Samsung machine.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Four checks take a few minutes and end a fair share of Samsung laundry calls before anyone books. Run them in this order.

  1. Confirm the machine has power at the socket, not at the breaker alone
  2. Clean the lint filter, then watch the outside vent hood while the dryer runs
  3. Clean the pump filter on a front load washer, draining it into a container first
  4. Write the code down before clearing it, and note which of the two machines showed it

Past that point it becomes our job.

  • The same fault returns after the machine has been unplugged and restarted
  • A code names a component, or means two different things depending on the model
  • The dryer is stacked and the repair needs the machine on the floor first
  • The washer leaks with the door closed rather than dripping when you open it
  • Anything smells hot, which is a stop now call rather than a booking

Our technicians are insured, and we diagnose the machine before we price the work. You can book a Samsung laundry visit online, and tell us which of the two machines is the problem.

Samsung Laundry Questions We Get

These four come up on almost every Samsung laundry call we take across Denver Metro.

My clothes come out wet. Do I book the washer page or the dryer page?

Run the washer alone and feel the load. Dripping and heavy is a washer question, wrung out and damp is a dryer question. If you cannot tell, book either one and say so on the call.

Do you work on Samsung washer dryer combination units?

Those carry WD and WH prefixes and are a different machine from the pairs on this page. Tell us the prefix off the nameplate and we will tell you what we can take on.

Does a stacked pair have to come apart for a repair?

Often the dryer does, because Samsung’s own service sequence starts by lowering it to the floor. We bring the equipment for that. The washer underneath usually stays where it is.

Do you service Samsung ventless heat pump dryers?

Yes. The drum, motor, fan, filters, drain pump, door and control side are ordinary dryer work on those machines. The sealed refrigerant circuit is a module rather than a repair, and we say which one you have at diagnosis.
