Built-In Viking Ovens in Denver Metro, From 5 Series Knobs to RVL Screens

Every current Viking wall oven is electric, and we repair them all. Viking wall oven repair starts from the line on the plate, which decides the controls, the cleaning cycle and the first checks. Some ovens that look broken are not: a 5 Series Premiere will not run if its TIMED BAKE knob was left on TIMED.

Read the Model Number First: Viking’s Wall Oven Lines

In Viking’s library, VSOE530 is titled Electric Single Premiere Oven, and VDOE530 the double.

RV marks the 3 Series; MV marks RVL. Viking still titles its 5 and 7 Series manual Professional Built-In Electric Single and Double Ovens. Older VESO and VEDO touch-control ovens carried the Professional name too. So a Viking Professional double oven can be a current VDOE530 or an earlier VEDO5302T.

Two outdoor ovens Viking files under wall ovens, the discontinued VGSO260T and VEOS100T, sit outside what we service. An oven under burners belongs to a Viking range. Our Viking oven page covers its cavity, and the range page its burners.

The combi-speed MVMSP6301 is covered here. A VMDD5306 speed oven or another built-in microwave stacked with the oven has our Viking microwave page. Ranges, cooktops and range hoods have pages in our Viking cooking appliances section too.

Where Viking Puts the Rating Plate on Each Wall Oven

Where the model and serial plate sits depends on the family, and two Viking documents sometimes disagree.

Viking says the build date is in the serial number but shows where only on ranges, dishwashers and refrigerators. So this page does not decode it.

  • 5 and 7 Series: top left of the door opening, under the control panel. Viking’s double-oven drawing marks it behind the door.
  • 3 Series: under the control panel on the left, per the manual; inside the right-side vent, per the installation guide.
  • RVL MVSOE6301 and MVDOE6301: the spot the user guide’s features diagram marks, plus a second label on top of the oven. The installation guide says inside the right-side vent.
  • RVL MVSOC6301 and MVMSP6301: on the frame behind the door, below the cavity, with the door fully open.

5, 7 and 3 Series Displays Show Words, Not Fault Codes

Viking’s current manuals for these ovens print no fault code at all, and no service or diagnostic mode. The displays show the clock, timers and settings. Only the discontinued touch-control ovens printed an error list, kept with the older models below.

RVL Touch Ovens: Alerts, F Numbers and Demo Mode

RVL ovens report trouble on the screen, but Viking publishes no list that decodes it. We never decode an F number from outside Viking’s documents. We test the oven instead.

  • F and a number

The MVSOC6301 and MVMSP6301 log faults in their Event Logs, and Viking publishes no list. Power off for 10 seconds; if it returns, book service.

  • Same F number at every start

On the MVMSP6301, Viking calls this a safety-related fault that makes the oven unusable.

  • Minor fault on the MVMSP6301

After a power cycle, functions that do not involve the faulty part still run. Viking’s own example of such a part is a heating element.

  • DEMO in the upper right

On the MVSOC6301 and MVMSP6301, hold Sleep/Wake about 5 seconds and toggle Demo off. Left on, it restarts after the display sleeps.

Checks From Viking’s Troubleshooting Pages, Before You Book

Viking’s troubleshooting points at knobs, doors and settings before parts, and each check names its line.

If every check below passes and the oven still will not heat, the fault is inside the oven. That is the point to book.

  1. Premiere will not start: if the lights work on a 5 Series Premiere, set the TIMED BAKE knob back to MANUAL. Viking warns twice that it will not operate otherwise.
  2. Broil does nothing: the temperature knob went too far past BROIL (today’s 5, 7 and 3 Series).
  3. Self-clean will not start: shut the door firmly so the latch can lock. Not clean afterward means the knob stopped short of CLEAN (today’s 5, 7 and 3 Series).
  4. No self-clean setting: by design on a Viking French-door oven’s single or upper cavity, and on the RVL MVSOE6301 and MVDOE6301. They steam clean.
  5. Lights on, no heat: Showroom on a 3 Series, or Show Room Mode on an RVL MVSOE6301 or MVDOE6301. On the steam and combi-speed ovens, look for DEMO, which Viking says to switch off.
  6. RVL oven cold with the door ajar: the MVSOE6301 and MVDOE6301 stop their elements and fan while the door is open.
  7. Fan running after shut-off: normal on the MVSOC6301 and MVMSP6301 until the electronics cool.
  8. Slow preheat: a much colder room or a supply below 240 VAC lengthens it, per the 5 and 7 Series and RVL manuals.

Self-Clean, Steam Clean and the Cooling Fan, Line by Line

Not every Viking wall oven self-cleans, and near-identical MV numbers differ by generation. The discontinued RVL 6 Series MVSOE630 and MVDOE630 self-cleaned; today’s MVSOE6301 and MVDOE6301 steam-clean.

The cooling fan is a stop-and-call part on today’s 5, 7 and 3 Series. It should run whenever the oven runs. If it stops or turns unusually noisy, Viking says to stop and call service.

Carrying on can damage the oven and cabinets. On the 3 Series, the oven will not operate if the fan fails to start during a clean cycle. On the 5 and 7 Series, a silent self-clean means a service call before the next one.

  • Pyrolytic self-clean

5 Series Premiere and Select, 3 Series, and a 7 Series double’s lower oven: about 3-1/2 hours, plus about 30 minutes to cool.

  • 20-minute steam clean

7 Series single and upper oven, RVL MVSOE6301 and MVDOE6301, with 4 oz of distilled or filtered water.

  • 15-minute steam clean

RVL steam oven MVSOC6301, which Viking says needs no descaler.

  • No cleaning cycle

    RVL combi-speed oven MVMSP6301.

Warming Drawer Displays: Settings, and Two Signs of a Fault

We repair all four current Viking warming drawers: the 5 Series VWD530 and VWD527, the 3 Series RVEWD330 and the RVL MVWDE6301. The RVEWD330 is set with a knob.

The VWD530 and VWD527 show display words, which are settings; two MVWDE6301 signs can mean a fault:

Discontinued Viking Wall Ovens: Touch Control, Gas and TurboChef

Viking’s library still holds the manuals for these models, and we take them on. Parts depend on what the supplier still has for each one.

Only the touch-control ovens printed an error list. It covers the Professional VESO and VEDO touch models, whose numbers end in T. Designer touch models, such as the DSOE305T and DDOE305T, print the same table.

Their plates sit in older spots. On the VESO5302T, the plate is at the bottom left of the door opening. Designer touch ovens put it on the right inner wall, seen with a flashlight through the upper vent trim.

If a discontinued VGSO100 or VGSO166 gas wall oven smells of gas, its manual prints Viking’s six steps. Do not try to light any appliance, touch any electrical switch or use any phone in your building. Call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone and follow its instructions. If you cannot reach the supplier, call the fire department.

The VGSO100 manual also says an indicator light with no heat means the oven is cooling and will resume.

The TurboChef VSOT730 and VDOT730 speedcook ovens self-clean both cavities, never at once.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Run the checks above and read the plate before you book. Note the display’s exact words and when they appear.

What is left after those checks is ours. That means no heat with the settings right, a self-clean latch that sticks, a cooling fan that stops, or an RVL alert that returns. A damaged door or gasket keeps an MVSOC6301 or MVMSP6301 out of use until it is repaired. A warming drawer that still will not heat or open is ours too.

I usually ask for the model number first. A VSOE530 and an MVSOE6301 need different checks from the first minute, one on knobs and one on a touch screen.

Our insured technicians cover the Denver Metro Area. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Every paid repair carries our 100-day labor warranty on the work on your invoice; parts carry their maker’s warranty. Book your repair online with the model number and what the oven does.

Viking’s Wall Oven Warranty, and Where In-Warranty Work Goes

Viking’s January 2026 warranty sheet covers built-in ovens, speed ovens, steam ovens and warming drawers in full, parts and labor, for two years. In years 3 to 5, any bake, broil or convection element is covered as a part only; the owner pays labor and shipping. The 5 and 7 Series manual agrees.

The sheet’s list for those years also names the magnetron, which matters on the combi-speed MVMSP6301. That oven’s own spec sheet names only the heating element, so confirm with Viking.

For two years, Viking’s warranty service does the repair, and Viking excludes damage from anyone else’s repair. In years 3 to 5, Viking covers only those parts; ask Viking who may fit one. Any other repair then is ours, as is every repair after year 5.

No recall touches a Viking wall, steam or speed oven, or a warming drawer. Viking’s recall page checks any unit by model and serial, and our Viking brand page lists the recalls that exist.

Viking Wall Oven Repair FAQ

  • Why won't my Viking wall oven turn on?

Check the breaker, then your line. On a 5 Series Premiere whose lights work, the TIMED BAKE knob must be back on MANUAL. A 3 Series in Showroom, or an MVSOE6301 or MVDOE6301 in Show Room Mode, lights up but never heats.

On a blank MVSOE6301 or MVDOE6301 screen, hold the power button beside it 10 seconds, then cycle the breaker. If nothing changes, the oven needs a visit.

  • What does an F number mean on a Viking RVL steam or speed oven?

It is a fault the MVSOC6301 or MVMSP6301 has logged, and Viking publishes no list of the numbers. Power it off for 10 seconds. If the number returns, book service. On the MVMSP6301, the same number at every start is a safety-related fault that makes the oven unusable.

  • Where is the model number on a Viking wall oven?

It depends on the line. On the 5 and 7 Series, open the door: top left of the opening, under the control panel. On the 3 Series, look under the control panel on the left, or inside the right-hand vent. On the RVL steam and combi-speed ovens, it is on the frame behind the door.

  • Is my Viking wall oven still under warranty?

For two years from purchase, Viking covers the whole oven through Viking’s warranty service. In years 3 to 5 it covers only the bake, broil and convection elements, and the MVMSP6301’s magnetron, as parts; confirm with Viking. Outside that cover, the repair is ours.

  • Can you repair an older Viking Professional wall oven?

Yes, we take them on. Viking still documents its discontinued Professional and Designer ovens, including the touch-control models with printed error messages. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts; what the supplier still has depends on the model.

  • Is there a recall on Viking wall ovens?

No recall covers them today. Neither CPSC nor Viking lists one for a Viking wall oven, steam or speed oven, or warming drawer. Viking’s 2015 and 2022 gas range recalls name no wall oven.
