Samsung Dishwasher Repair in Denver Metro Homes

A Samsung dishwasher that will not drain, will not heat, or prints a two-character code is a hire decision. We diagnose first and quote second, and you decide before any part is ordered. This page is about the Samsung dishwasher only, from the 18-inch machine to the Bespoke AI models.

The Model Number Decides Which Machine We Are Coming To

Samsung sells at least 21 dishwashers in its current US line. At least 19 are top control, one is a front control ADA model, and one is an 18-inch unit. At least 15 carry the Bespoke name and at least 10 have Wi-Fi.

Samsung sells no panel-ready, integrated or drawer dishwasher in the US. Every machine here is an under-counter unit wearing its own front, and that keeps the removal job predictable.

Behind the door they are not one machine. At least four separate control platforms sit in the North American installed base, and they do not share a fault-code set. Two Samsung dishwashers that look identical at the door can be different inside, so guessing between them wastes a visit.

Samsung makes the nameplate easy to reach. It is a sticker you can read with the door open and nothing moved, in one of three places.

  • The top of the door’s inner rim.
  • Either side of the door’s rim, left or right.
  • The inside edge of the tub, again either side.

Read us the whole string, not the part you think matters. The two digits after DW are a tub class, not a width. Samsung’s published decoder also stops at 2018, so the letter in a current model number decodes to nothing.

Samsung Information Codes, and Why No Master List Exists

Samsung calls them information codes, and the set belongs to the platform rather than to the brand. One current platform prints six of them, the Bespoke AI platform prints ten, and the Smart Linear Wash generation prints seven. A code you read about online may not exist on your machine at all.

Codes we are called for
CodeSamsung's own headingWhat it points at
5CDrain checkHose, sump, or the drain pump cover
4CWater supply checkSupply, pressure, or inlet temperature
LCLeakage checkSeveral causes, two of them owner-side
HCHigh temperature heating checkThe wash heater circuit
HC4Check if the dry heater is overheatedA separate dry heater, Bespoke AI only
3CWashing pump checkThe wash pump, not the drain pump
PCZone wash function checkThe Storm Wash+ zone
1CDetergent checkSuds from the wrong detergent
9C9The IPM is overheatingSamsung sends this one straight to service
ACMMemory communication error in the panelControl panel memory, service call

Only one of those is genuinely yours to clear. 1C means regular detergent went in instead of dishwasher detergent, and the suds have to be washed out before the machine will behave.

Two other displays are not faults either. A newly installed Samsung dishwasher runs a Smart Install cycle. The panel shows AS while that runs, then Ot when it finishes. Neither string appears in any code table.

Draining, Heating and Leaking, in Samsung’s Own Terms

5C is the code we are called out for most. Samsung’s own checks are a drain hose that is clogged or folded and a drain hole inside the sump that is blocked. The Bespoke AI platform splits the same code in two, adding a check on the drain pump cover itself.

That split matters, because the cover is a snap-in part a homeowner can reach. Take out the lower rack, lift out the cylindrical micro filter, push the cover handle in the direction of the arrow and pull it up. A cover left off after a filter clean throws 5C on its own.

4C is a supply problem as often as a part problem. These machines take hot water only, want between 20 and 120 psi, and hold a minimum inlet temperature of 120 degrees Fahrenheit. In older Denver kitchens a long uninsulated run, or a water heater set low, sits inside Samsung’s own list of causes.

HC and HC4 separate the wash heater from the dry heater at code level on the newer platform. Samsung’s first instruction on both is to power the machine down and restart it. When the code comes back after that, the visit is ours rather than yours.

LC is the leak code, and it is worth two minutes before it is worth a booking. Samsung attributes it to moisture detection, and on the older WaterWall generation to a blocked water reflector. Its own remedies include not overfilling the detergent cup and checking the garbage disposal cap.

Two Door Behaviours That Are Not Faults

Two of the calls we take on this brand are doors doing exactly what Samsung designed them to do. Knowing which is which saves you a visit.

AutoRelease Dry opens the door by itself, between 1 and 15 minutes before the cycle ends, to let steam out. Samsung’s own manual says this is normal and not a product malfunction. On one platform the door cannot be pushed shut by hand for two minutes afterwards.

The handleless Bespoke model has the opposite habit. You open it by pressing and releasing the centre of the top of the door. If it resists after repeated opening, Samsung’s instruction is to wait about a minute, because air pressure inside the tub is holding it.

That machine also ships with a Door opening tool, and the name is worth knowing. It exists for a power failure, so a handleless dishwasher with a dead panel is not a sealed box. We have seen all three of these reported to us as breakdowns.

Installation Faults That Get Reported as Breakdowns

A Samsung dishwasher is hardwired, which is the first difference from most brands. There is a junction box behind the kick plate, and the machine runs on 120 volts at 15 amps. The power cable is bought separately rather than shipped in the box.

Several complaints that sound like a failing machine are set by how it went into the cabinet. Samsung names each of these in its own installation manual.

  • A cabinet that is not secured to the floor makes the machine noisier when it runs.
  • A front that sits lower than the back lets the door weep at the bottom.
  • Side gaskets belong 13/16 to 1 inch inward from the cabinet’s front edge, or noise rises.
  • The drain hose has to sit at least 10 inches above the sink connector.
  • The ribbed section of that hose must never be cut to make it fit.

Getting the machine out again depends on your countertop, which in Denver Metro is often stone. Where the counter cannot be drilled, Samsung’s brackets go on the sides instead of the top. The dishwasher is then screwed to the cabinet sides, behind plastic caps.

Two more Samsung details save time on site. The kick plate comes off with two screws. The rear levelling foot turns with a Torx T20 from the bottom centre at the front, never from behind.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Five checks take a few minutes and cost you nothing but the time. Each one clears a fault we are regularly booked for.

  • Pull the coarse filter and the micro filter, clean both, then click the drain pump cover back down.
  • Check the sink drain and the garbage disposal cap, then run the machine empty.
  • Confirm the kitchen tap runs properly hot before you start a cycle.
  • If the code is 1C, switch to dishwasher detergent and use less of it.
  • Read the model number off the door rim and keep it beside you when you book.

After that, the line is clean. Four situations are ours rather than yours.

  • A code that comes straight back after a full power cycle.
  • A panel showing 9C9 or ACM, which Samsung itself routes to service.
  • An LC that persists once the obvious leaks have been dealt with.
  • Any fault that needs the machine drawn out of the cabinet.

Samsung’s own safety pages tell owners not to disassemble, repair or modify the dishwasher themselves, and on a hardwired appliance that advice is sound. You can book a Samsung dishwasher visit with the code and the model number, and we will bring the right platform knowledge to the door.

How We Work on a Samsung Dishwasher

We name the platform before we name the part, because Samsung changed its own vocabulary between generations. One manual says top nozzle where the next says top spray arm, and a homeowner quoting one will not match a list using the other.

  • Diagnose first

We read the code, confirm which platform you own, then quote the repair.

  • Your call

Nothing is ordered until you have the quote and say yes to it.

  • Insured technicians

Every visit is made by an insured Wilson and Myers technician.

  • Labour warranty

The repair is covered for 100 days after we leave.

On the Bespoke AI machines, part of the AI Wash cycle depends on the Wi-Fi link. An owner telling us the machine stopped adapting may have a dropped connection rather than a failed sensor. That is worth checking before anything is opened.

If your fault turns out to belong to another machine, we cover those too. Our dishwasher repair service runs across every brand, and the wider Samsung kitchen appliance pages route the fridge, freezer and ice work.

We work the same way on the brands Denver homeowners cross-shop with Samsung, including LG and the step up to Bosch. The Samsung brand hub lists every appliance we take on.

Technicians reach Denver, Aurora, Lakewood and Centennial, along with the rest of Denver Metro.

Samsung Dishwasher Questions We Are Asked

What does 5C mean on my Samsung dishwasher?

It is Samsung’s drain check. Look at the drain hose for a fold or a blockage, the sump hole under the filters, and the drain pump cover. If all three are clear, the pump or the wiring behind it is next, and that is our job.

The door opens by itself before the cycle finishes. Is it broken?

No. That is AutoRelease Dry venting steam, and Samsung documents it as normal behaviour. On one platform the door will not close by hand for two minutes after it opens, which is also by design.

Do you work on a Samsung dishwasher still inside its warranty?

Samsung’s own terms run one year on parts and labour, with five years on the board, the racking and the stainless tub for leakage. Inside that window Samsung routes the work through its own service network. Outside it, you choose your technician.

My Bespoke dishwasher has no handle and will not open. What now?

Press and release the centre of the top of the door first. If it has just been closed, wait a minute and try again. Samsung supplies a Door opening tool for a power failure, and it usually turns up in the paperwork drawer.

Can a Samsung dishwasher take a custom cabinet panel?

Not a third-party one. Samsung’s Bespoke panel is a colour panel that clips onto a Samsung door, and the installation manual rules out fitting anything else. It comes off with a suction cup at the top corner, never the middle.

Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty, and we source Samsung parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts.

Samsung Dishwasher Stuck on 5C, LC or HC?

It will not drain, weeps at the door, or opens itself before the cycle ends. Tell us the code and the model number off the door rim. We diagnose first and quote second, and nothing is ordered until you say yes.
