Electrolux Stove Repair Across the Denver Metro Area

Electrolux sells four gas and dual fuel freestanding ranges today, and our Electrolux stove repairs cover all four. Induction ranges sit outside what we service. If a burner dies when you release the knob, Electrolux’s guide says to hold it in 3 to 5 seconds.

Find Your Model: Gas or Dual Fuel, 30 or 36 Inches

Open the oven door and check the right side of the frame. Electrolux puts the rating plate there on all four ranges, not in a drawer. Leave it in place. The warranty excludes a range whose serial number was removed, altered or cannot be read.

For Electrolux range repair, the model number comes first: it settles fuel, width and power supply before anyone arrives. Both ECFG models are all gas. Both ECFD models are dual fuel, a gas cooktop over an electric oven.

All four are freestanding. Electrolux sells no slide-in range today.

Electrolux’s two induction models, the ECFI3068A and ECFI3668A, are the ones we turn down. Electrolux Professional commercial ranges are not covered here. A range badged Frigidaire belongs on our Frigidaire range page.

Faults inside the oven cavity belong on our Electrolux oven page. On a dual fuel model, an Electrolux range element sits inside that cavity, so element faults go there too. This page keeps the burners, gas and power.

Wall ovens, gas cooktops, the rangetop, hoods and a built-in microwave sit beside these ranges on our Electrolux cooking appliances page.

We also take Electrolux ICON range problems on discontinued models such as the E36DF76GPS dual fuel, except any unit under recall 10-048.

Clicking, Lighting, Staying Lit: How Each Burner Is Protected

Each Electrolux range burner has its own igniter and its own thermocouple, a flame-safety device. There is no pilot light. Pushing any knob sparks every igniter at once, so clicking at all burners is expected while you press.

To light one, push the knob in and turn it counterclockwise to the spark position. Once it lights, keep holding for 3 to 5 seconds. That heats the thermocouple. Never cook with the knob left in the spark position.

Let go too soon and the burner may go out: Electrolux says the thermocouple has not heated enough. Wait a few moments, then hold longer. If nothing lights within 15 seconds, turn the knob to OFF and wait 5 minutes before another try.

Blow-outs have their own rule. A burner that blows out while you cook trips a safety device, which shuts its gas even with the tap open. Turn the knob back to OFF and wait at least 5 minutes before relighting.

Electrolux’s troubleshooting for these ranges names no failed igniter. Its checks for a burner that will not light are below. For an orange flame, or one that lights only part way around, see the flame checks on our Electrolux cooktop page.

Three Burner Types on the 30-Inch, Six Dual-Flame Burners on the 36-Inch

Burner layout depends on width. The Electrolux 5 burner gas stove, the 30-inch ECFG3068A, mixes three burner types, and the dual fuel ECFD3068A shares its layout. Brass dual-flame burners sit at the front, black single-flame burners at the rear. Each type must go back in its own housing after cleaning.

The oval center burner, called the Bridge or Fish burner in Electrolux’s guides, has two knobs and suits a griddle.

On the Electrolux 6 burner gas range, the 36-inch ECFG3668A, and on its dual fuel twin, all six burners are dual-flame. Their inner ring always lights with the outer. To simmer on the inner ring alone, push the knob in and turn it left.

After cleaning, set each cap and flame-spreader crown level so the parts interlock. Electrolux says every cap must be on for proper ignition and the right flame size. Grates go back last. Place the sides first, then the center, raised side toward the backguard.

The ECCG3672A rangetop carries the same six-burner layout without an oven; it is on our Electrolux cooktop page.

A Dead Range: Gas and Dual Fuel Start at Different Breakers

Electrolux gas range repair on a dead unit starts at a 120-volt outlet. The ECFG models plug in with a factory-connected 3-prong cord on a 15-amp circuit. Electrolux dual fuel range repair starts at a 240-volt (or 208-volt) supply instead, with a 4-prong plug and a 30-amp circuit. Check that breaker first.

Electrolux rules out extension cords, adapters and multiple outlets. For a range that is dead all over, its guide checks the cord connection, the breaker or fuse, and the power supply. The burners still work in a power cut: Electrolux says they can be lit carefully with a match.

The four guides print no list of Electrolux range fault codes, and the burners have no codes at all. The display speaks in a few plain states instead.

  • 12:00 PM flashing: the range was just plugged in, or the power was interrupted. Set the clock again; after an outage of minutes or longer, earlier settings are lost.
  • Child lock icon: the oven knobs are locked. This lock never covers the burner knobs.
  • Fan running after cooking: the cooling fan protects the electronics and can run long after the oven is off. Electrolux calls that normal.
  • Err and a number: a detected fault. Electrolux says to record the code and call; our oven page covers it.

Checks From Electrolux’s Guides Before You Book

Each step below comes from Electrolux’s guides for these four ranges. An Electrolux stove top not working at all points first to the gas valve, the cord and the power supply. Installed in the last 30 days? For burners that will not light, Electrolux’s owner library sends you back to the installer.

If you smell gas, skip the list. Electrolux says not to light anything, touch a switch or use a phone in the building. Call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone. If you cannot reach it, call the fire department.

  1. Plate: read the model number on the right side of the oven door frame.
  2. Power: the cord plugged in firmly and the breaker on, 120 volts for gas, or 240 or 208 volts for dual fuel.
  3. Gas: the supply valve to the range open.
  4. Burner parts: every cap and crown level and interlocked; on a 30-inch, each burner type in its own housing.
  5. Ports and igniters: with the burner off, clear clogged ports with a small-gauge wire or needle. Wipe igniters and thermocouples with a damp cloth. A toothpick lifts dried residue.
  6. Technique: hold the knob in 3 to 5 seconds after lighting. If nothing lights within 15 seconds, turn it to OFF and wait 5 minutes.
  7. Anti-tip: grasp the back edge with both arms and try to tilt the range forward. It should not tilt; if it does, stop using it until the bracket is engaged.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Past those checks, the work is ours. Electrolux’s guides reserve all other servicing for a qualified technician, and its installation instructions say the cooktop is not removable. So Electrolux stove top repair works from above and through the control panel; burner, igniter and valve work never lifts the top.

Our Electrolux gas stove repair covers what the guides send to a technician. That includes the minimum-flame setting at the valves, LP conversion, cord and wiring faults, and any Err code, which Electrolux says to record and report. When a repair moves the range, we re-engage the anti-tip bracket before we leave.

In my experience, the plate on the door frame and one burner lit at a time show where to look. All four current gas and dual fuel models are ours, and our technicians are insured.

We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. We fit OEM parts when the supplier has the right one.

While any Electrolux coverage runs, a covered defect goes through Electrolux’s warranty service. Outside it, book a repair online with the model number and which burner is failing.

Altitude, Propane and Hood Airflow for Denver Metro Kitchens

Electrolux prints one altitude rule for these ranges, in all four installation instructions. It says “the appliance rating should be reduced by 4 percent for each additional 1000 ft” above 2,000 feet. It rates them for safe operation up to 10,000 feet. Its instructions name no high-altitude kit.

Airflow affects ignition too. Electrolux warns that ventilation blowing air down toward the burners may cause ignition and combustion problems. Its own hoods are on our Electrolux range hood page.

What the installation instructions for all four ranges set
TopicWhat Electrolux's instructions say
AltitudeThe rating is reduced 4 percent for each 1,000 feet above 2,000 feet
Altitude limitRated for safe operation up to 10,000 feet
Gas as shippedNatural gas, with an LP conversion kit included
Leak testSoap solution or leak detection fluid, never a flame

Electrolux’s One-Year Range Warranty and Recall Status

All four owner’s guides print one term: a year from the original date of purchase. Electrolux pays to repair or replace parts defective in materials or workmanship, when the range is installed, used and maintained as the guide says. While any Electrolux coverage runs, a covered defect goes through Electrolux’s warranty service; outside it, the repair is ours.

Electrolux’s product listings add a second year on replacement parts for owners who register within 60 days. The 30-inch range guides do not print that condition.

No CPSC recall names any of these four ranges. The discontinued ICON gas range E30GF74HPS is under recall 10-048 for its oven, which our Electrolux oven page covers. We do not repair a recalled unit.

  • Installation and how-to calls

Visits to correct the installation or explain how to use the range are excluded.

  • Bulbs, consumables and cosmetic parts

Calls to repair or replace light bulbs, air or water filters, other consumables, knobs, handles or other cosmetic parts are excluded.

  • A second owner

A range transferred from its original owner is excluded.

  • Access costs

Removing trim, cupboards or shelves to reach the range is at the owner’s expense.

  • Commercial use

A range used in a commercial setting is excluded.

Electrolux Range Repair FAQ

  • Why does my Electrolux range keep clicking?

Pushing any knob sparks every igniter, so all the burners click while you press. Electrolux says never to cook with the knob left in the spark position.

If the clicking goes on for 15 seconds without a flame, turn the knob to OFF and wait 5 minutes. Then check the gas supply valve and the burner ports.

  • Why is my Electrolux range control panel not responding?

Look for the child lock icon first. Electrolux’s child lock locks only the oven knobs, never the burners. After a power cut, 12:00 PM flashes; an outage of minutes or longer clears the earlier settings.

A dark display goes back to the cord and the breaker. An Err code is a fault Electrolux says to record and report.

  • Can I light an Electrolux gas range burner during a power outage?

Yes. Electrolux’s installation instructions say to hold a lit match to the burner head and slowly turn the knob. Be careful doing it, as Electrolux warns.

  • Does Electrolux still make an electric range?

Not a radiant or coil one. The current four burn gas or pair a gas cooktop with an electric oven. Electrolux’s induction ranges, the ECFI3068A and ECFI3668A, sit outside what we service.

For Electrolux electric range repair on a discontinued model, such as the Electrolux EW30EF65GS range, send us the model number.

  • Can I convert my Electrolux range to propane?

The range can run on propane. Electrolux ships an LP kit with it, and says a qualified technician or installer must do the conversion. The work inverts the regulator stem, replaces every burner nozzle and sets the minimum-flame screws.

Electrolux also says to keep the removed nozzles for future use.
