Two Under-Counter Units in Denver Metro Homes, One Guide

Our Electrolux wine cooler repair covers the EI24WC15V, a 24-inch under-counter model. The EI24BC15V beverage center shares its guide. Start at the display: CE is Cellar Mode, and H° or L° appears only after six hours.

Wine Cooler or Beverage Center: Which One You Have

Electrolux beverage center repair follows the same path as the wine cooler, because one owner’s guide covers both units. Both are 24-inch compressor units on R-600A refrigerant, free-standing or built in under a counter. The wine cooler has a single temperature zone.

Look up to find the model number. The guide puts the model and serial plate on the ceiling of the unit, and also calls its spot the top left corner.

Electrolux sells no dual-zone wine cooler today. Neither current unit is thermoelectric. For those designs, and for other makers, our wine cooler repair page is the place to start.

A Frigidaire badge goes to our Frigidaire wine cooler page, and a Frigidaire Gallery badge to our Frigidaire Gallery page.

Our Electrolux kitchen appliances section lists these two beside the refrigerators, the column freezer, the ice makers and the dishwashers.

H°, L°, CE and dE: The Codes Electrolux Prints

The guide prints no numeric error codes for either unit, and nothing on the display names a failed part. Two timings matter most here. An alert needs six hours off the set temperature, and none sounds in the first 90 minutes after power on.

Warm Bottles, Frozen Cans: Electrolux’s First Causes

When the cabinet is not cold enough, Electrolux lists four causes, and none is a failed part. One of them is the light. Frozen cans are the reverse case: set it warmer and allow 24 hours.

  • Set too warm: set it colder, then allow 24 hours before you judge the change.
  • Light staying on: setting 2A keeps the lights on with the door closed. Turn off the manual light control.
  • Front grille blocked: keep the front grille open, and never install the unit behind closed doors.
  • Door gasket not sealing: adjust the gasket. For a door that will not close, Electrolux’s fix is to turn the gasket 180° and re-align the hinges.

Door Seal, Door Switch and a Light That Will Not Go Out

A light that stays on with the door shut has two listed causes. One is the manual light control; the other is a door switch not making contact. Setting 2A keeps the lights on by design. After a door reversal, the switch actuator must move to the inside bottom of the door.

For no light at all, the guide names a failed LED assembly and sends it to a technician. A dark cabinet with dead buttons is different. It can be Sabbath Mode or the child lock.

Checks at the Display, Grille and Door Before You Book

Each step comes from Electrolux’s guide for both units.

  1. Display: rule out CE, Sb, dE and the child lock before you judge the temperature.
  2. Switched off by a key combination: on the wine cooler, Cellar Mode and plus held 5 seconds turn the unit off or on. On the beverage center, hold power for 3 seconds.
  3. Setting: after any change, allow 24 hours before deciding it failed.
  4. Lights: switch the manual light off, and check that the setting reads 1A, not 2A.
  5. Grille and shelves: clear the front grille, and take any foil off the shelves.
  6. Door: make sure it closes firmly. If not, re-align the hinges and turn the gasket 180°.
  7. New unit: let it stand upright about 2 hours before you plug it in, then allow 24 hours before loading.
  8. Power: a dedicated 115 volt, 15 amp outlet with no GFI, extension cord or adapter. After an outage, check the breaker.
  9. Location: rule out direct sunlight, heat such as a stove, moist areas and an unheated space. Electrolux warns that extreme cold may stop the unit performing properly.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Anything past those checks is ours. We also check that the cord is seated in the box on the back of the unit, where it plugs in. Both units run on R-600A, a flammable refrigerant, and the guide reserves its repair for trained service personnel. Our EPA-608 certified technicians handle the compressor and the rest of the sealed system.

Beyond that, we replace a failed LED assembly or a door switch that loses contact. Doors that still will not seal are ours too. An under-counter unit comes out only once its anti-tip bracket is freed from the niche. The guide screws that bracket to the hinge holes and the niche, so we refit it on the way back.

I usually read the display and the light setting before I pick up a tool. Two of Electrolux’s warm-cabinet causes live there.

While any Electrolux coverage runs, a covered defect goes through Electrolux’s warranty service; outside it, the repair is ours. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. Tell us the model and the code on the display, then book your wine cooler visit.

One Year From Purchase, Sealed System to Year Five

This guide counts its term from the original date of purchase, so keep the receipt. Electrolux’s column freezer counts from delivery instead.

Electrolux’s product listing adds a second year of parts coverage when you register within 60 days of purchase. The guide does not mention it.

  • Year 1

Electrolux will repair or replace any part defective in materials or workmanship, when the unit is installed, used and maintained as the guide says.

  • Years 2 to 5

Parts in the cabinet liner and sealed system: compressor, condenser, evaporator, dryer and tubing. The guide does not mention labor.

  • What voids it

A blocked front grille or imitation parts may void it. Cutting, removing or direct-wiring the power cord will.

  • Not covered

Compressor damage from insufficient power, commercial use, and a unit transferred from its first owner.

Electrolux Wine Cooler Repair FAQ

  • What does CE mean on an Electrolux wine cooler?

Cellar Mode. The EI24WC15V then holds a fixed 54°F, the temperature Electrolux recommends for longer storage, and the setting cannot change. Press Cellar Mode once to leave it.

The beverage center has no Cellar Mode.

  • Why is my Electrolux wine cooler showing H°?

H° means the cabinet stayed warmer than the set temperature for six hours. Start with three owner checks. The door must close firmly, the grille must be clear, and the lights must not be on 2A.

Then allow 24 hours. If H° returns after that, book a visit.

  • What is the Electrolux beverage center AF code?

AF is the air filter reminder on the discontinued EI24BC65GS beverage center and ICON E24WC75HPS wine cooler. Today’s EI24BC15V and EI24WC15V guide prints no AF code. An AF on the display points to an older unit.

  • How do I turn off demo mode on an Electrolux wine cooler?

When dE alternates with On, demo mode is active. On the wine cooler, hold Cellar Mode and the light button for 10 seconds. On the beverage center, hold Mute Sounds and light for 10 seconds.

dE alternating with OF confirms it is off.

  • Can an Electrolux wine cooler go inside a cabinet?

Yes. Under a counter it needs no extra air space at the top, sides or rear. The front grille must stay open. Electrolux also says never to install it behind closed doors.
