Frigidaire’s current line has three wine and beverage units, all cooled by a compressor on R-600a refrigerant. Check one button before you book: on two of them, holding Standby Mode for 3 seconds stops the unit. After that, the model number decides the repair.
Frigidaire lists two wine coolers and one beverage center under its own name. Frigidaire Professional has no current model in this category. The spec sheet lists one version of the Frigidaire 144 Can Beverage Center, FRYB4626AS, in stainless steel.
Frigidaire’s own paperwork calls the FRWE4626A both a 46 and a 45 bottle cooler, and the 45 bottle title belongs to the FRWW4543A as well. So the model number on the plate decides which guide applies, not the title on the paperwork.
The table below follows the owner’s guides, which set different ranges from the product listings. On the FRWW4543A, the serial plate sits on the upper left of the interior liner or on the back.
Frigidaire’s refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, dishwashers and disposers share a kitchen appliance section with this page. Cooking and laundry machines start from our Frigidaire brand page.
| Model | Frigidaire's name | Set range by zone | Owner's guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| FRWE4626A | 46 Bottle Wine Cooler | Upper zone 41°F to 64°F, lower zone 50°F to 65°F | Complete Owner’s Guide, July 2025 |
| FRWW4543A | 45 Bottle Two-Zone Wine Cooler | Upper zone 41°F to 54°F, lower zone 54°F to 64°F | Use & Care Guide, March 2021 |
| FRYB4626A | 144 Can Beverage Center | One range, 34°F to 50°F | Complete Owner’s Guide, July 2025 |
The GRWE5726A, the GRYB5426A and the discontinued FGBC5334VS are Frigidaire Gallery units, covered on our Frigidaire Gallery page rather than here. An Electrolux-badged wine cooler goes to our Electrolux page.
Curtis International sells licensed wine and beverage fridges under the Frigidaire and Frigidaire Gallery names, and this page does not cover them. Two examples are the FGWF4303 and FGMIS3060. Neither is a Frigidaire unit.
Frigidaire’s own site sells retro MEFMIS mini fridges among its small kitchen appliances, and they sit outside this page too. Some appear in its wine cooler search. They are personal mini fridges, not wine coolers.
CPSC’s recall notices name no Frigidaire wine cooler or beverage center.
The FRWE4626A and FRYB4626A each have a Standby Mode button. Holding it for 3 seconds switches the mode on. While it is on, the appliance does not operate. Frigidaire’s troubleshooting table lists a unit turned off as one reason it does not run.
That table’s answer is to read the Controls and Settings section of the guide. Start there, with the plug pushed fully in, before you book.
The FRWW4543A uses a Power button instead. It switches the unit on and off. Its troubleshooting table lists a control left OFF as one reason it does not run. Each of its two zones has its own up and down buttons.
On the FRWE4626A, this button picks the zone, and the increase and decrease buttons set it.
On both 2025 models, the Light button keeps the light on with the door closed.
The FRWW4543A returns to its earlier settings, and Frigidaire says to wait at least 5 minutes before restarting it.
A Frigidaire wine cooler beeping with an H flashing on the display is reporting a warm cabinet. That signal belongs to the FRWW4543A, the only one of the three whose guide prints display letters. Its buzzer sounds for 30 seconds, again a minute later, and stops after three rounds. Pressing any key silences it.
The guide also warns that loading too many bottles can raise the temperature for a while. Find the letter in the first column below. E or F is the letter Frigidaire sends to service.
The FRWE4626A and FRYB4626A guides print no codes, alarms or diagnostic mode. Their product records list a Door Ajar Alarm, which the FRWE4626A listing describes as an alert for a door left open. Neither guide explains how to silence it.
| Display | What the guide says | What the guide tells you to do |
|---|---|---|
| E | Listed under Failure display, with no cause given | Contact local service personnel for repair |
| F | Listed under Failure display, with no cause given | Contact local service personnel for repair |
| L | The cabinet is too cold | No step in this table; the troubleshooting table says to set it warmer and allow several hours |
| H, flashing, with a buzzer | The cabinet is too warm | Press any key to silence the buzzer, which stops by itself after three rounds |
A Frigidaire wine cooler not cooling after it was unplugged may simply need time. Each guide allows 4 hours to cool down completely. A 2025 model that runs too long may be set too cold. Frigidaire’s answer is a warmer setting and 24 hours to stabilize.
A Frigidaire beverage cooler not cooling gets the same first checks. Its 2025 guide lists the same first causes as the FRWE4626A guide. Work down this list in order.
Frigidaire’s guides say the sides can run 30°F above room temperature as the compressor moves heat out.
Refrigerant circulating through the system, which Frigidaire lists as a normal sound.
Metal parts expanding and contracting, which the guides also list as normal.
The cold control switching the unit off and on, which its guide calls normal.
Humid weather causes it, and the FRWW4543A guide says to wipe it away.
Level the cabinet or check the floor under it.
Every unit on this page lists R-600a refrigerant and an air-cooled condenser. Each guide describes a compressor. None of the guides, spec sheets or records for these models mentions a thermoelectric or Peltier system. So a failed Peltier module is not a diagnosis for these three.
The refrigerant is flammable, and each guide carries a DANGER warning about it. The warning says not to puncture the refrigerant tubing. Repairs are for trained service personnel, using equipment designed for flammable refrigerants. Frigidaire sends a damaged power cord to a service technician as well.
Supply voltage matters too. Frigidaire warns that a swing of 10% or more can affect performance, and that low voltage can damage the compressor. That damage is excluded from the warranty.
Work through the checks above first. Most causes in Frigidaire’s tables are settings, power, the room or the door. On the 2025 models, the door gasket is the only part those tables tell you to change.
I have seen a wine cooler called dead when Standby Mode was holding it off and the plug was only half in. What is ours starts where those tables stop. An E or F on the FRWW4543A needs a visit, as its guide says. So does an H that keeps coming back after the checks.
A worn gasket, a cabinet that still will not hold its setting and any work on the refrigerant circuit are ours too. Our technicians are insured and EPA-608 certified, and they work across the Denver Metro Area. Every repair carries a 100-day labor warranty.
We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts. We fit OEM parts when the supplier has the right one.
For Frigidaire wine cooler repair, have the model number from the plate ready and book a visit online. Tell us what the display shows, if anything. Frigidaire beverage center repair starts the same way, with one set range instead of two zones.
Only the 2021 guide for the FRWW4543A warns against a GFI circuit. The two 2025 guides set other limits, so the model number decides which rules apply. The list below sets them side by side.
Frigidaire’s written warranty runs one year on all three models. The spec sheets list one year each for parts and labor. The 2025 guides count from the delivery date. The FRWW4543A guide counts it from the original date of purchase.
No guide offers longer coverage for the compressor or the sealed system. Keep the receipt or delivery slip, because it proves the warranty period. The warranty applies only in the USA and Canada.
While that year runs, the repair belongs to Frigidaire’s warranty service. After it ends, the repair is ours. These exclusions matter most on a service call.
A unit whose original serial number is removed, altered or unreadable is excluded, so leave the plate in place.
A unit transferred from its original owner is excluded.
Service calls to correct the installation, or to explain how the unit works, are excluded.
The cost of removing trim, cupboards or shelves that did not ship with the unit is excluded.
Damage from low voltage or an inadequate power supply is excluded.
A unit used in a commercial setting is excluded.
Rule out Standby Mode or the Power button first, then the plug, the breaker and the door. Give it 4 hours after any restart. If the cabinet still will not hold its setting, it needs a technician.
On the FRWW4543A, a buzzer with a flashing H means the cabinet is too warm, and any key silences it. The FRWE4626A and FRYB4626A records list a Door Ajar Alarm instead. On those two, close the door fully.
Not the three current models. Each lists R-600a refrigerant and an air-cooled condenser, and each guide describes a compressor. Those guides and records cover the current line only, so an older cooler starts with its model number.
Frigidaire’s tables name two causes. Hot, humid weather is one, and the 2025 guides call it normal. The other is a door that is not closed or aligned. The guides mention no drain line or drain pan, so check the door and gasket first.
No. The FRYB4626A guide limits the unit to beverages only. The FRWW4543A guide rules out food in the wine cooler too. Its interior may not get cold enough to prevent spoilage.
Food belongs in a Frigidaire refrigerator or freezer, and each has its own page.
It depends on the model. The 2025 guides for the FRWE4626A and FRYB4626A list an enclosed garage, if it stays between 0°F and 110°F. The FRWW4543A guide recommends a room between 70°F and 78°F instead.
Tell us the model number from the plate and what the display shows. An E, F or flashing H changes the diagnosis.
