Frigidaire Refrigerators Across Denver Metro

Our Frigidaire refrigerator repair service covers the standard line and Frigidaire Professional, in kitchens and garages across Denver Metro. Two details shape every visit: the model number, and whether a setting has switched the cooling off. Both take a minute to check.

Which Frigidaire Refrigerators We Repair

Standard Frigidaire refrigerators come in six layouts. Top freezers lead, with 16 of the 37 current models. Frigidaire Professional adds seven more, including the FPRU19F8W single-door column refrigerator. For all these Frigidaire refrigerators, repair starts with the model number.

Older Frigidaire and Frigidaire Professional refrigerators are ours too; the table lists the current line because those are the guides quoted here.

Refrigerators sit in our Frigidaire kitchen appliances section with freezers, ice makers, wine coolers, dishwashers and disposers. Gallery models have their own page on our Frigidaire Gallery hub. Standalone freezers belong on our freezer page, while a refrigerator’s own freezer stays here. Wine and beverage units have a wine cooler page.

We do not service the licensed Curtis International products sold under the Frigidaire name: retro minifridges, can coolers, kegerators and commercial display fridges. They are not Frigidaire units. Curtis has recalled some of those minifridges for fire and burn hazards, so check the CPSC notice if you own one.

Cooling Switched Off: Two Frigidaire States to Rule Out

A lit interior proves nothing about cooling. Two Frigidaire states stop cooling while the unit still looks powered. An OFF setting leaves the light on, and demo mode keeps the display running. The list below shows where each control style hides the OFF setting.

Demo mode is the second state. Frigidaire’s Owner Center shows it as 77 77, cleared by unplugging the unit for five minutes. The Professional column refrigerator shows DEMO instead, and its guide says cooling has stopped. There, the exit is minus and WATER FILTER held together for 10 seconds.

On a dial model Frigidaire calls the control a temperature control, which is the Frigidaire refrigerator thermostat by another name. The Frigidaire FFHT2022AW top freezer refrigerator uses one. On the counter-depth Frigidaire French door refrigerator FRFC2323AS, the On/Off button sits on the appliance control display.

A Frigidaire refrigerator not working for either reason needs a setting changed, not a part. A unit that seems silent may be defrosting instead. Several guides say to wait 20 minutes, while the French door and side-by-side guides put the cycle at about 30. A Frigidaire fridge not working after that needs a diagnosis.

  • Dial models: OFF on the temperature control turns off the compressor, but the light keeps its power.
  • On/Off displays: on several French door models and the FRBE1925A, holding On/Off for three seconds disables cooling while the light keeps working.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Error Codes Change With the Panel

Frigidaire’s guides print their own code lists, and the lists disagree. Read Frigidaire refrigerator error codes against your model’s guide. E7 alone reads as a ring temperature error, a circulating temperature failure or an ambient sensor error, depending on the guide.

That Use & Care guide is your Frigidaire refrigerator troubleshooting manual and your Frigidaire refrigerator diagnostic codes PDF. It lists normal behavior beside real faults, so Frigidaire refrigerator problems that trip no code turn up there too.

The Frigidaire refrigerator codes below name sensors, a fan, a communication failure or a temperature fault. Not one names the Frigidaire refrigerator control board, so we test before anyone replaces one. The LED and FRBE1925A guides add that the refrigerator may keep running despite the error. In the FRTE1814A, FRTE1936A and FRTI1936A guide the LEDs are numbered from the bottom up.

FRTE1814A, FRTE1936A and FRTI1936A add a manual freezer damper. Slide it left for a colder freezer and right for a warmer one. A Frigidaire freezer not freezing but fridge is cold on those models deserves a look at that slider first.

With the slider set cold, a Frigidaire refrigerator freezer not freezing needs a technician. So does the freezer fan pattern, which points at the Frigidaire refrigerator fan motor.

HI, PF and Other Display Alerts, and How Resets Work

Frigidaire’s Owner Center lists the high temperature alarm as H or HI, with a letter I. Its list has no H1 entry. Frigidaire says HI blinks after a compartment runs warm for over an hour, usually because a door was left open.

So a Frigidaire refrigerator H1 code on the freezer side starts at the doors, not at a part. Check that each Frigidaire refrigerator door seal closes all the way, then confirm Frigidaire’s 37°F and 0°F settings. Press CLEAR ALERTS where your model has it. The FRFS2823A guide shows HI over the warm compartment.

An outage can raise it too, because Frigidaire says a power failure may leave the high temperature alarm showing. A Frigidaire refrigerator beeping at a steady interval may be sounding that alarm. A Frigidaire refrigerator flashing H1 after the door checks needs a diagnosis.

PF, or Power Outage on some displays, means the power dropped or surged. A Frigidaire refrigerator power outage reset is a key press once power is back. The model’s guide names the key. On a Frigidaire refrigerator, power outage beeping with a lit display is where Frigidaire suggests a hard reset.

Try the model’s own keys first, because guides differ on how to reset Frigidaire refrigerator displays. Frigidaire describes no reset key on its dial models, and elsewhere the Frigidaire refrigerator reset button location moves from panel to panel. The three unplug times below are the short answer to how to reset a Frigidaire refrigerator.

Some French door displays, including the three-door Professional models, have a Default Settings key. Holding it 3 seconds returns factory settings, which answers how to reset temperature on Frigidaire refrigerator displays of that type. Recheck settings after that Frigidaire refrigerator control panel reset.

  • 30 seconds

Frigidaire’s general unplug reset for error codes, or the breaker if the plug is out of reach, which resets the whole circuit.

  • 2 to 3 minutes

The hard reset Frigidaire suggests when the unit beeps and the display lights up.

  • 5 minutes

The exit from 77 77 demo mode, not a general reset.

  • DI SP or DISP: ice is jammed in the chute, so clear it, and thaw and empty the bin if the cubes have fused.
  • Sb or SB SB: Sabbath mode shuts off the lights, dispenser and control panel, and LED models hide fault codes.

Noises, Leaks, Lights and the Checks to Run First

Several sounds sit on Frigidaire’s normal list. The Frigidaire refrigerator water inlet valve buzzes briefly while it fills the ice maker. A motorized damper can also hum on and off.

Several guides also say a variable-speed Frigidaire refrigerator compressor is designed to run 100% of the time except during defrost. They do not say which models have one. A Frigidaire fridge making loud humming noise that is new still deserves a visit. So does a Frigidaire refrigerator making loud noise off that list.

A Frigidaire refrigerator leaking water from the bottom may have iced its evaporator after a door stood open. Closing the door should let it recover, per Frigidaire. Water in the cabinet is a different fault, and a Frigidaire fridge leaking water inside often has a cracked filter. If it is running onto the floor, wipe the supply lines with a dry paper towel to find a loose connection.

A Frigidaire refrigerator light not working is not always a failure. Several models switch it off after a door stays open 5 minutes, and Sabbath mode keeps it dark too. A Frigidaire fridge light not working after both checks may be a failed LED, one the FRSC2333A guide sends to a technician.

Six checks settle many of these before anyone books.

  1. Model number: read it from the serial plate inside the fresh food compartment.
  2. Settings: make sure the control is not at OFF and the display is not in demo, Sabbath or lock.
  3. Power: check the outlet, the breaker and any tripped GFI, then allow 24 hours after a restart.
  4. Doors: close every door and check that each Frigidaire refrigerator gasket seals all the way around.
  5. Airflow: keep food at least an inch from the air ports and off the temperature sensor.
  6. Recall: CPSC recall 22-143 covers listed serials of the FRSS2323A, the FFHI1835VS and FRSS2623A units such as the Frigidaire FRSS2623AS side-by-side refrigerator. Their ice level detector arm can break and fall into the ice bucket. Electrolux replaces those ice makers. Our ice maker page prints the serial ranges, so check yours before booking that repair.

When to Call Wilson & Myers

Run the six checks above first, since each comes from Frigidaire or CPSC.

Past those checks, the work is ours. Every current Frigidaire refrigerator runs on R-600A, a flammable refrigerant that Frigidaire’s warning reserves for trained service personnel. Our insured, EPA-608 certified technicians handle that sealed-system work, including a replacement compressor for Frigidaire refrigerator models. Before any compressor verdict, we test the starting circuit, including a Frigidaire refrigerator start relay where the model carries one.

Flashing display codes go to service, per Frigidaire. Frigidaire’s refrigerator guides name the sensors and the wiring and no Frigidaire refrigerator main control board, so that is the order we test in. Defrost work starts at the heater, which the guides name; no Frigidaire refrigerator defrost timer or defrost thermostat appears in them. Replacing a Frigidaire refrigerator door gasket that no longer seals is ours too.

Some codes carry no published meaning at all. Frigidaire’s alarm articles send Er CE, Er T1 to Er T6, SY CF, SY CE, SY EF, OP and SH to service unexplained.

I have seen more than one warm Frigidaire that had nothing wrong but its cooling switched off behind a lit interior. That is why the settings come before the toolbag. We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts, and we fit OEM parts when the supplier has the right one.

Denver Metro Garages and Frigidaire’s Room Limits

None of the 33 current Frigidaire and Frigidaire Professional refrigerator guides mentions altitude. Denver’s elevation adds no instruction of its own. What most guides set instead is a room temperature range. Below a model’s floor, Frigidaire warns, the compressor cannot hold proper temperatures.

Garage Ready is rated per model, and Frigidaire’s documents do not always agree. The Frigidaire FFTR1814WB top freezer refrigerator is one case: its guide says 38°F and its listing says 45°F. The Frigidaire top freezer refrigerator FFHT2022AB shows the same split, and FRAE1626A splits the other way. Plan for the higher figure on all three.

Frigidaire’s Owner Center also gives a general 55°F line for all refrigerators, stricter than any garage-ready guide. The counter-depth Frigidaire French door refrigerator FRFG1723AV, for example, has a 55°F floor in its guide, so read your own guide first. Below 50°F the garage-ready FFHT, FFTR and FFHI guides want the freezer control at its coldest. No water line should run where it can freeze.

One Year of Coverage, Two on the Professional Column

Every current Frigidaire and Frigidaire Professional refrigerator carries a one-year limited warranty, with one exception. The Frigidaire Professional 19 cu ft single-door refrigerator FPRU19F8WF gets two years from delivery, a term its listing dates from July 1, 2023. Its specifications put the capacity at 18.9 cu ft.

Frigidaire Professional refrigerator repair on any other model follows the one-year term. Most guides count that year from delivery, but a few older ones say purchase, including the one for the Frigidaire French door refrigerator FRFS2823AS. Check your guide before you pay for a repair.

In-warranty repairs go to Frigidaire’s warranty service, and units installed in the past 30 days go back to the installer. Out of warranty, we handle Frigidaire refrigerator service directly. Frigidaire’s warranty excludes food loss, commercial use, units that changed owners and units whose serial plate was removed. Compressor damage from insufficient power is excluded too, and most guides ask for a dedicated 15-amp outlet.

Frigidaire Refrigerator Repair FAQ

Where is the model number on a Frigidaire refrigerator?

On a top freezer, it sits on the upper left side wall of the fresh food compartment. Side-by-side and French door models use the upper right. For single-door, compact and column models, check the location figure in your guide.

CPSC’s recall notice puts the FFHI1835VS label on the right interior panel, so check both walls.

What does H1 mean on a Frigidaire refrigerator?

Frigidaire’s list has no H1 entry. It does list H or HI for high temperature. To fix or reset that alarm, check the doors and each Frigidaire refrigerator seal, then clear the alert.

What does D1 SP mean on a Frigidaire refrigerator?

The Owner Center list has no D1 SP code on Frigidaire refrigerator panels. It prints the ice jam code as DI SP, with a letter I. Our ice maker page covers the rest.

Why is my Frigidaire refrigerator water not working?

Start with the display lock. A locked panel stops both ice and water. A Frigidaire refrigerator not dispensing water can also have a frozen, cracked or loose filter. Some dispensers stop after 3 minutes of flow, a few after 2.

After a filter change, flush for about 4 minutes, on a supply of 30 to 100 psi. A Frigidaire fridge not dispensing water after that needs a technician.

How do I reset a Frigidaire refrigerator after a power outage?

The answer to how to reset Power Outage on Frigidaire refrigerator displays is a key press, and the key depends on the model. A Frigidaire fridge beeping after power outages may simply want that press. Frigidaire’s Four-Door alarm article names Alarm Reset for a Frigidaire fridge power outage reset. Allow 24 hours for temperatures to settle.

Where can I get Frigidaire refrigerator repair near me in Denver Metro?

Wilson & Myers covers the Denver Metro Area with insured, EPA-608 certified technicians who come to your kitchen or garage. Frigidaire fridge repair starts with the model plate. Our Frigidaire brand page lists every other appliance we cover.

Can a Frigidaire refrigerator repairman near me fix a mini fridge?

Yes for a Frigidaire compact such as FRPE3136A, FRPE4436A or FRPE4536A. No for a licensed Curtis International minifridge or can cooler, which sits outside what we service.
