Wilson & Myers handles Frigidaire dishwasher repair on built-in Frigidaire and Frigidaire Professional models across the Denver Metro Area, with insured technicians. Codes, filters and drain rules change with the model family. Your model number decides which apply.
Frigidaire sells ten current built-in dishwashers under its own name and the Frigidaire Professional name. Nine are Frigidaire: three 4501A top-control models, two FFBD models and four plastic-tub models. PDSH4816B is the only Professional model. Frigidaire dishwasher troubleshooting starts with knowing which one you own.
Current Gallery models, whose numbers start with G, are covered on our Frigidaire Gallery page. Electrolux-badged dishwashers belong on our Electrolux page.
This dishwasher sits with Frigidaire refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, wine coolers and disposers on our Frigidaire kitchen page. Our main Frigidaire page covers the cooking and laundry machines.
Frigidaire still lists FDSH4502B, FDSH4411A, FDPH431LA and FDHP4336A but no longer sells them. A Frigidaire dishwasher not working the way these tables describe may be one of those, or the discontinued portable FFPD1821MW.
An older Frigidaire or Frigidaire Professional unit is ours all the same. The table holds the current models because their guides are the ones quoted here. For an older model, give us the full number and we work from its own guide.

Every current Frigidaire and Professional spec sheet lists one year of parts and labor. In that year, Frigidaire dishwasher service runs through Frigidaire’s warranty service. A search for Frigidaire dishwasher repair near me should end there until the year is up. Keep the receipt or delivery slip.
Frigidaire’s owner site sends leak, no-fill, cleaning and drying problems on units installed in the past 30 days back to the installer. The written warranty excludes calls that only correct the installation. Guides for eight of the ten current models say a drain air gap is not part of the dishwasher and not covered. After the first year, the repair is ours.
Frigidaire’s answer to how to unclog a Frigidaire dishwasher starts outside the machine, with the first four checks in the list below.
A Frigidaire dishwasher not draining water after all six checks is past the owner steps. On the 4501A models, codes i20, i40 and iF0 mean clogged filters or a restricted drain line, and PDSH4816B shows E20, E40 and EF0. None of the current guides describes what a failing Frigidaire dishwasher drain pump does. We test it rather than guess.
Frigidaire contradicts itself on standing water. The guides for PDSH4816B, FFCD2413U, FDPH4316A and the 4501A models call water left after a finished cycle not normal. The owner site calls some water normal and treats water over the filter screen as the sign to act. We follow the model’s guide.
Frigidaire also sets the drain loop height by model, and the figures closing this section differ.
Their installation sheet sets the drain hose loop at least 32 inches above the floor.
Their sheets say at least 20 inches and no more than 32.
With no air gap, their sheets say to hang the middle of the hose well above the sink cabinet base.
A minimum of 32 inches, with no model named.
The 32 inch and 20 to 32 inch sheets both require an air gap.
Frigidaire uses three filter designs. On a Frigidaire FFCD2413US 24″ built-in dishwasher, the filter cleans itself and you empty the glass trap.
The 4501A models show i-codes, PDSH4816B shows the same set with an E, and FFBD models show only i1 and i4. The plastic-tub guides print no code table.
Frigidaire’s owner site lists Frigidaire dishwasher codes such as i20 and i40 without naming a model. Match any code to your own family’s table. Frigidaire prints how to reset Frigidaire dishwasher error codes beside each table where a reset applies.
Code i50 or E50 names the drain or wash motor but not which one. A Frigidaire dishwasher pump fault on either side looks the same. So we test both sides first. Frigidaire’s word for the wash side part is the wash motor, which is what a Frigidaire dishwasher circulation pump means here.
Code iC0 or EC0 points at the electronic control system, where a Frigidaire dishwasher control board fault would show. Code i60 or E60 points at water heating. PDSH4816B heats with an in-line heater under the tub, while the FFBD, FFCD2413U and FDPH4316A diagrams show an exposed Frigidaire dishwasher heating element.
A Frigidaire dishwasher UO code appears in no current Frigidaire or Professional guide, nor on Frigidaire’s online code list. We read it against your full model number.
| Code | Frigidaire's meaning | What Frigidaire says to do |
|---|---|---|
| i10 | Low fill | Look for a pinched supply line or a shutoff not fully open. |
| i20, i40, iF0 | Clogged filters or a restricted drain line | Clean both filters and the sump, check the hose, and confirm the knockout plug is out. |
| i30 | Leak or overflow in the bottom pan | Check the water inlet valve connections and that the unit is level. |
| i50 | Drain or wash motor problem | Press cancel, or turn the breaker off for 5 minutes. Call for service if it returns. |
| i60 | Water heating system problem | Same reset as i50, then service. |
| iC0 | Electronic control system problem | Same reset as i50, then service. |

Frigidaire dishwasher blinking lights are not always a fault. On the 4501A models, CLOSE scrolls when the door needs closing, and Frigidaire says no service is needed. On those models, a Frigidaire dishwasher locked with loc showing has a control lock set. The owner site reads LOC as a locked door instead.
On PDSH4816B, pressing pads while the control lock is on makes its light blink three times. Frigidaire dishwasher buttons not working there can mean the lock is on. Check the lock before booking.
On the 4501A models, PF means an outage paused the cycle. If your Frigidaire dishwasher stopped working during the outage, the cycle is paused rather than lost. With the door shut, it resumes on its own. The owner site describes Frigidaire dishwasher flashing lights without naming a model.
Abnormal voltage. The cycle resumes by itself once voltage is normal, if the door stayed shut.
For a Frigidaire dishwasher leaking from bottom of door, Frigidaire starts at the gasket. The PDSH4816B, FFCD2413U and FDPH4316A guides say the Frigidaire dishwasher gasket must sit in its channel and reach the tub bottom. It must not run past the end rib, where it would block the door from closing. Check that the unit is level.
Suds are the next suspect. Spilled rinse aid, hand soap, dish soap or too much detergent can foam and overflow. The owner site adds a clogged filter, and notes that the kick plate can stop the door closing fully. Frigidaire also warns that starting with the water off can damage the pump seal and cause a leak.
A Frigidaire dishwasher door seal is only one source. Code i30 or E30 means water in the bottom pan, and the guide checks the Frigidaire dishwasher water inlet valve connections first.
CL or Cd on some Frigidaire displays means the door has not closed and latched, per the owner site. When a Frigidaire dishwasher won’t close, recheck the gasket and the kick plate. A Frigidaire dishwasher not latching after that needs service, the same article says. That visit starts at the Frigidaire dishwasher door latch.
Start with the water supply. For a Frigidaire dishwasher not filling with water, the guides check for a shutoff not fully open and a pinched line. FFBD models also need the door latch seated, and plastic-tub models need a free-moving overfill protector. A pump sound before the fill is normal, because each cycle starts with a short drain.
A Frigidaire dishwasher not drying dishes may simply be set to Air Dry, which leaves the heater off while drying. Quick Wash uses Air Dry too, so some dishes stay wet by design. Keep the rinse aid dispenser filled and incoming water at 120°F or more. Plastic items may need towel drying.
For a Frigidaire dishwasher not cleaning well, the guides suggest a longer cycle, better loading and fresh detergent. Water temperature matters here too. Run the nearest hot faucet for several minutes and check it with a candy or meat thermometer. Below 120°F, have a qualified person raise the water heater setting.
A Frigidaire dishwasher not spraying water across the racks may have an item stopping a spray arm. The owner site says detergent left in the cup suggests something blocked the dispenser. Rule that out before anything else. A Frigidaire dishwasher soap dispenser not opening after that is worth a service visit.
A film that will not come off is damage, Frigidaire says, from too much detergent, especially in soft or softened water. Removable hard-water film has its own vinegar steps in some guides. Match detergent to your water hardness. A Frigidaire dishwasher not washing at all calls for a diagnosis.
Start with the checks Frigidaire gives owners: the disposer, the hose, the filters or glass trap, the supply valve and the dry setting. Frigidaire’s own advice on how to fix a Frigidaire dishwasher ends there, with the reset its guide prints. To troubleshoot Frigidaire dishwasher faults any further, the guides say to disconnect power and leave repairs to a qualified technician. Past that, the job is ours.
Codes that return after the reset are ours: i50, i60, iC0 and their E versions. So is water that stays after every owner check. So are leaks at the inlet valve behind the kickplate, and FFBD noise that lasts past a complete cycle. A Frigidaire dishwasher latch not working after the gasket and kick plate checks is ours as well.
A machine that will not run at all is a different diagnosis, and the same booking covers it. I have seen a glass trap full enough to leave water in the tub after every cycle, with nothing else wrong. So the trap and the filters come out before we test a pump.
We source parts through national supplier networks and manufacturer contracts, and we fit OEM parts when the supplier has the right one. Every repair carries our 100-day labor warranty.
For Frigidaire dishwasher repair service near me in Denver Metro, book online with the model number and the code or lights you see.
On the 4501A models and PDSH4816B, a Cylinder Fine Filter and a Coarse Filter sit in the tub bottom. FFBD models use a flat fine filter in an insert. On the plastic-tub models, the filter cleans itself. You empty its glass trap instead.
Frigidaire’s owner site suggests cleaning the filter and glass trap every two to three months.
The answer to how to reset a Frigidaire dishwasher depends on the model. A Frigidaire dishwasher reset on the 4501A models and PDSH4816B means pressing cancel or turning the breaker off for 5 minutes. Some owner-site articles give 3 minutes instead, so use your own guide’s figure. If the code returns, book service.
Long cycles are by design. Frigidaire’s guides say energy-efficient units use less energy, so the wash cycles take longer. On PDSH4816B, the Normal wash takes about 169 minutes with Air Dry, 176 with Medium Dry and 253 with MaxBoost. A cool water supply or a large load can lengthen a cycle further.
PDSH4816B treats its first cycle after installation or a power failure as heavily soiled. Its sensor is not calibrated yet.
The guides for most current models place the serial label on the right side of the door. Frigidaire’s owner site says to look along the interior side of the door or the right side of the tub, with the door open. Give us the number exactly as printed, including the letter on the end. It also tells you which guide is your Frigidaire dishwasher troubleshooting manual.
Frigidaire’s owner site answers how to drain a Frigidaire dishwasher in two steps. Hold Cancel for 5 to 10 seconds. Then start a new cycle. On some models the cancel alone drains the tub, for about a minute on PDSH4816B and 90 seconds on FDPH4316A.
Blue means the cycle is still running. On PDSH4816B, the floor light turns white when the wash is done and goes off once you open the door. During a pause it stays on until the door opens. Its guide describes no blinking floor light, so tell us exactly what you see.
Tell us the full model number and the code or lights on the panel. The model number decides which Frigidaire code table applies, and the code narrows the fault.
